LITTLE GREEN THINGS

The other day when we were out hiking I saw all these little green things by the giant waterbowl thing. My human wouldn't let me try to eat - uhm, I mean meet - one until she took a picture... but dumb Droid is sooooooo slow, the little green things were all gone by the time she was done.

So now I have two questions.
What are these green things and (more important) are they eatable?

I'm not sure what the official answer here is, but I know that I don't want to eat them (my mom just sighed relief). It is probably a frog or a toad my mom says. All I know is that when I was checking one out on my grandparents' porch and it kept jumping in my face. I didn't like that. The nerve! Just the other day my dad found an albino frog by the garden hose. We've never seen a white one before! Here's to more adventures and more new discoveries!

My human says they are frogs and that you CAN eat them but they poop a nasty tasting foul (OMP I'm gonna barf) stuff when they feel threatened. I would think that trying to eat one would qualify as threatened. BOL. I didn't ask how she knew that. BOL Have a great day!

Hi Puglet
NO NO NO do not eat frogs, our collie neighbor ate one and well...lets just say the collie is no longer our neighbor.

If you bite a frog they have this slime stuff that tastes just really bad.. it makes you drool like Niagara Falls.

We have a toad living in our yard, mom carried it away and it came back, we know its the same toad cause it only has three feet.

Eating Frogs and Toads = Big Sleep.

That's what Mommie said.

I wouldn't eat one Puglet, but you should ask Google about what happens if you kiss one...

Oh Puglet! I really don't think it's eatable. My mommy said that she had a Scottie when she was a little baby. It bit her, her sister and her girl cousin. (apparently he didn't like girls) and her family sent it to Puerto Rico to live with other family. Down there he bit a frog went over some rainbow bridge. (I guess the frog was a girl too)

Oh Puglet...thank goodness you asked the most important question of all...is it eatable? That is what we always want to know and I don't think we want to eat these. Love to chase them and try to eat them, but that is all we want to do!

3E's...we had a gecko come in our yard and I tried to catch it but it got away, most don't but this one did and it only had three legs and you kmow what, it came back in a few days and still only had three legs! Maybe he knew your 3 footed toad or maybe it's a TX thing!

Puglet,
I've never seen one of these things but he doesn't look friendly or eatable. Stick with poo.

My advice is do not even attempt to eat the thing. My cat once tried to eat one and he was spewing foam and spit from his mouth. It was nasty.
They are, however, kind of funny to look at.
Just sayin'...

Puglet, you are so lucky you got to check out that green thing. We had one in our yard last week and the humans wouldn't even let us out. Something to do with what folks here are saying about them causing big problems. So I guess don't eat them. But if you did, they say they taste like chicken.

Well, sort of.

Toads, no.
Frogs - yummy legs.

Caution: Unless you are a good jumper, they may be hard to catch.

Hi Puglet. I wouldn't suggest eating something that looks that mean. He may bite back and eat you.

No, no, no, don't eat. It could be poisonous. Or at the least, make you sick. Leave them alone.

Frogs and toads are super fun to chase, but not to eat. However they live in au jus puddles and add a most delectable flavor to my au jus, somewhat earthy, somewhat fresh watery, a mossy je ne sais quoi to the whole pot. I haven't found any frogs or toads at my new place yet, but they were just coming out to play where I used to live.

I would so try to eat it. Everyone else is going to tell you no. But I try to eat or play with everything.

Holy SPAM! I had not idea eating a frog could mean The Big Sleep. Scary! And very good to know.

Now I'm really glad I listened to my human and didn't eat it. I don't always listen when it comes to not-eating things and she totally would have killed me if I ate a poisonous frog.

My sweet Cletus loves to chase frogs. I swear he hops right behind them.

Puglet...if you ate the poisonous from there would no need for you human to kill you! Silly boy.

Maggie from Dallas said they have gecko's we do too and scorpions..stay away from them too.

It probably depends on the frog Puglet, but better safe than sorry. Why not make friends with it instead?

Puglet, our pug used to love "catching" the frogs along our river bank. We could always tell when he did because he would have foam at the mouth from whatever poision they releashed from their skin. Luckily it was never lethal. Scary green things indeed!

Puglet - I think it's only TOADS that can kill ya.
