So, it's no secret that my human sucks at naming things. Dutch is from Holland and according to Google, when you're from Holland you are Dutch. Sure, he came with the name Dutch - but a lot of dogs get new names. Obviously my human couldn't think of a better one.And then there's me. My name used to be Tanker, but my human called me Puglet instead because I was a pug and I was small. Now that I'm big, she just calls me Pug. Unless I do something bad and/or ignore the first 3 times she yells "Pug!"... then I'm Puglet.
A Dutch dog named Dutch and a pug named Pug. See what I mean about the naming thing??
So last night when The Man brought my human a get-well fish to fill the empty bowl, she was all ready to call him Fish. Just like the last Fish. And when I told her that was really lame, she said "How about Fish 2.0 then?".
UGH.
Of course I totally vetoed Fish 2.0 and suggested that you'd all be much better at picking out a name for Fish 2.0. Y'know, since everyone here is so smart and awesome and stuff. So give me your best fish names & I'll let The Randomizer pick a completely random favorite.
PS: Fish is a he and he is red, blue and kinda shiny.

Pug, I'm not fond of Fish 2.0 either, so this contest will be fun! Since he is red and blue, all that's missing is the white, so how about naming him Indy (short for Independence - like the 4th of July and fireworks)?

I think you should name him Sapphire like the stone. It's blue and sparkly. Mom says girls like to get them as gifts, and you got fish as a gift from a man (aka The Man). Mom says you don't want to loose them and they can put a smile on your face.

My human friend, Aunt Laurie, says to name your new fish "Finster". Kinda cute, don'tcha think? FYI, I am at Stinson Beach for a WHOLE week with my momma and daddy, some of their pals, and THREE other dog friends! It is the perfect vacation except for the seagulls who send poop from the sky...lots of it! They are kinda scary because I'm so small, and they have been swooping and flying low = YIKES!

There is a bit of a controversy going on it our house because there are 3 different opinions about what Fish2.0 should be named. So to be fair our human has agreed to leave two more comments with Phoebe's and Zoey's suggestion. Our 5 year old human cousin feels very strongly that Fish 2.0 should be named YODA. Yoda (a pug) went to the bridge almost 2 years ago and was his best friend and since the anything worth naming has been named Yoda.

I've never commented before but I always quietly send my juju from Maryland. But naming fish sounds like so much fun I had to join in. I think his name should be Sparta just because he is a fighting/warrior fish. There are a lot of good names here though, so fish would be lucky to get any of them.
Picking names is hard which is why I was nameless for several days after my human brought me home. She just knew I didn't fit my shelter name of "Pam".

Anyway, she noticed you had mentioned that your human said something about the bionic Suki....and we spool hope you're talking about True Blood, because that is our fav show too! Rocco and Pickles vote for "Red". We used to have an awesome fish named Red a long time ago, and we still have a big picture of him hanging in the kitchen. He was a great fish and we think that Fish 2.0 deserves the majestic, noble name of "Red". Even if he has other colors. The name has meaning (to us).
My humans call me pug too! My real name is Edward, but it's ok....I still answer to PUG! :)

We, too, are fans of the name Gill. We had a fish brother named that 'til he went to the big fishbowl in the sky. Fin is also a nice choice. What about the name Deuce, since he's your second fish?
Our mom got another betta and named him Blue 'cause he's blue (how unoriginal is that?) and another one named Calypso because he is red, blue and green. Our other mom recommended the name Joseph (reference to The Technicolor Dream Coat) in addition to Calypso, so sometimes the fish is referred to as "CJ".
