TEXAS

So, I survived my first plane ride. If you've never been on a plane before, you're not missing much. Its kinda like being in a really big car with a whole bunch of strangers. Except instead of driving for a few hours without ever leaving the state you fly for a few hours and end up in a place like Texas. That part is awesome.

If you're lucky, there will be an empty seat on the plane and you'll get to hog the whole thing. And if you're extrasuperlucky, the plane people will think you're cute and feed you pretzels. Not that pretzels are all that exciting. But airplane pretzels are cooler than regular ones and food is food, right?

Anyway. I haven't been in Texas long enough to be and expert on it or anything but here's what I know so far:

1. Texas likes pickup trucks.
2. People here are crazynice
3. The highways are just crazy. Even Droid gets lost on them.
4. It's windy.
5. Planet Best Buys are pug friendly just like back home.

That's all I know for now, but tomorrow we're getting a guided tour from a local and I'm sure I'll know everything after that. When I know, you'll know too.

Glad you guys made it safely. Did the being really high up hurt your ears, pug? Were you nervous? I bet I'd have to be heavily sedated to be anywhere near a plane.

Anyhoo...enjoy TEXAS (everything's big there, right?)

Love,
Lu

Texas does like pickups. We have one!

Folks here are super nice. Like over-the-top nice.

Highways are crazy, but the drivers are worse. I'm glad you have an escort. There's a knack to driving here.

It's not always windy. Yesterday was sort of unusual.

Glad you're stocking up on essentials at Best Buy.

Welcome to Texas. We can't wait to meet you.

YEEHAW!! You are so brave! I hope I never have to ride on a plane. I don't really like riding in the car!! Have a great time out there! I was wondering, do the dogs in Texas have an accent?

What airline did you fly on that was so nice Puglet? We will have to use them if we ever need to fly!

P.S. Buddy went the the V.E.T. yesterday and was over the 25 pound treat barrier. But the super nice V.E.T. felt bad about no treats and showed us an new treat called Lean Treats that were SUPER AWESOME and we snarfed them up! We still are limited until we take our winter weight off.

Duh! The tag in the pic says United.

Little Emi has a question for you.....what airline did you fly on?? If they let you out from under the seat on the flight that's the airline she wants to fly on when she comes to California this summer. She is NOT going to be happy about having to stay UNDER the seat and IN the crate for six hours.

Glad you made it safe and sound. Have FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!

Hi Puglet,
Glad you made it to Texas safe and sound. When I flew I had to be in a box under the seat, it was dark, noisy, yucky, awful and I panted, panted and panted somemore. Panted so much mom could smell me and so could our travel companions. My friend Zenna slept in her box under seat, she liked it.

Anyhoo... glad you are safe, sorry we couldn't meet you but mom said the 5+ hour ride was too much.

If you are ever in San Antonio, our house is your house.

Dutch says to "keep your ass in Texas!". He's all mine now Pug and he doesn't ever want to go back. We've been snuggling on the sofa and going on long walks together. So you can stay in Texas with those pickup trucks and yummy BBQ steaks, 'cause I've taken him over!!!!

Say, Puglet, how did you manage to get on an airplane? I thought animals had to be stowed away in the luggage department??

Harry the Aussie black pug says - your so lucky, here we have to go as cargo in a crate away from our mums. BORING. We love reading the blog and are devastated when'd we have to wait a few days xx

We love your pug luggage tag...by the way was "Heavy" referring to you?! I would have thought your tag would have said "VIP".

Hello Puglet -

I'm curious how to flew outside of your carrier on the plane and what airline you took. Whenever I fly there is a strict policy about me staying in my carrier under the seat AND I can't fly on most airlines because I'm 23 lbs and their weight limits are 15 lbs. for in-cabin pooches.

Looking forward to seeing your human (and you?) in Miami next month!
