WRONG SIDE OF A LOCKED DOOR

I don't know what the delay was, but my human finally picked us up at the House of Meat last night. I'll skip the part where she says I'm looking a little tubier than when she dropped me off, and the part where The Man totally lies about how much and we ate while we were there and go straight to what happened when we got home.

Or tried to get home. Because when we got there, we couldn't get inside. Yeah. My human's key refused to go in the lock. At first she thought maybe her brain was just being gimpy - that she was using the wrong key. Totally possible, but my human's gimpiness wasn't the problem.
The problem was the lock.

It was cold and dark and we wanted in. My human was totally not happy. So I suggested we break into our house. I've seen people on TV do it with a credit card. You just slide it in the door crack, wiggle the handle and the door pops right open. Uh, unless you have something called a dead-bolt lock, which is what we have. Then you're kinda screwed.

Unless you also have a dog door.

Luckily, we have one of those too. And because the only way to get into our backyard is through a special entrance that only we can get into, my human doesn't always lock the dog door. And luckily, our dog door is big enough for Dutch to go through. Because that means my human can fit though it too (she was VERY happy about this).

So, my human is home. And even though there was a little bit of swearing at having to squirm through our dog door at midnight, I think she's happy to be back. She promises to help me get caught up with all the comments I missed as soon as she gets caught up on the gazillion unread emails in her own inbox.

Sigh.

Must be really nice to have thumbs....

Hiya Pug!

Glad to hear that thumb lady is home, holy doggie door adventures - what a mess!

Now we will sit back and wait for the scale photo that will say '25.2', right? Right?

Tee hee :)

Wow Puglet what an adventure!
I'm glad to hear you were finally able to get inside.
Paws crossed for you to still be on the right side of the magical number 25 when your human takes you for the dreaded weigh-in.
Thank Pug your human had the sense to not get tubier on her vacation or she may not have been able to fit through the dog door. Sometimes our humans are just awesome that way.

Mom totally had a laugh at trying to visualize your mom going through the dog door. Too bad you didn't have thumbs to take a picture of that! Hehehehe

Hi Puglet,
We missed you.
My mom was laughing about your mom going thru the doggie door.

In the summer the people next door came home to find kids in their kitchen eating peanut butter & jelly sandwiches in their house. The kids came in thru their doggie door, no house alarm went off cause the doggie door wasn't alarmed.

We thought that was pretty funny.. the neighbors didn't!!

OH, paws crossed that you are close if not under the 25.2.

Puglet,
We forgot something, there is a Dorito's Pug commercial that needs your vote.

Ask your mom to log onto www.pugattack.com to vote to have the pug commercial on during the Super Bowl.

The video is hilarious, check it out!

Oh Puglet,
I'm sorry your human had to climb through the doggie door, but isn't it luck that the door was unlocked. My goodness, Picturing you mom climbing through the dog door had my mom in stitches.

Oddly enuf my human was locked out yesterday afternoon. She had to go to her cousin's house and wait for Mommy #2 to come home with key. And breaking into our house is hard since the humans have put so much effort into PREVENTING break-ins. No doggie door so THAT was not an option.
Glad your human is home. I look forward to more Puglet and Dutch adventures.

Hey there, Pug!
We have a puggy door, too, but I'm not going through it. My 13 year old girl goes in and out trying to show me it's ok, but nope- not me. Why go through when I can orb someone into opening it for me? I might try it to get some PB&J, though! I'm glad your human didn't lock it so you guys could get home. I think you have lots of messages to catch up on...

Oh no! We hope your key/lock is fixed. We wouldn't want your human to have to use the dog door as a regular means of entrance. We have a dog door too but since Yoda's not here to hold it up for us we don't use it anymore despite our humans pleas to. We're in the Lola camp on this one. Nevertheless welcome home all.

Thank god for dog doors! And while I know that isn't a picture of you Puglet, can I say that I absolutely love this picture of Dutch?!

Hmmm...I just can't picture myself as a doggy door user considering I make mom carry me across the hardwoods. Your mom is right though, at midnight, it is time to get things done.

Puglet,
Good thing no local critters decided to take up residence while you guys were gone. Remember the raccoon that paid you a visit in the middle of the night?

Well I can't fit through the dog door, but if I reach up reallllly far, stretch my arm waaaay out, tweak my shoulder entirely, I can just reach the door lock to flip it to unlock :-) ... I don't worry about bad guys doing this, the dog would eat them first and ask questions later when the stepped foot in HER backyard! (well, of course, unless they brought her a treat... treats = instant best friends - even if you *are* a bad guy!).

And where was Nikon to document your human squishing through the doggie door? I would have loved to see that pic!
