And why do I care how much it costs to feed the car? Because the more money Mazda eats, the less money there is to buy me things. Things like cookies and bull penises and adventures in far away places.
Not cool.
Yesterday it cost $52 to feed Mazda. Do you have any freaking idea how many cookies you can probably buy with $52? I don't know exactly how many, but I'm sure it's a lot.
I heard the radio man say it's Libya's fault. I don't know who this Libya person is or what they're doing to make car juice so expensive. But I want them to stop it. Like, now.
Libya, if you're reading this - can you please stop messing with our car juice? Please?? I'll give you a cookie.

IT'S A DOUBLE SPECIAL DAY!
IT'S A DOUBLE SPECIAL DAY!
Oh, SPAM! Miss Gimpy totally forgot to add the special days that came in after our calendar-making party. Duh. And get this, today is special for two California pugs. I wonder if they were born together?!?
Petunia is from around here (San Fran Bay Area) and Pugsley is from Oak Park in southern California. I don't know how old Petunia is, but today is special day #9 for Pugsley. Happy Born Day to both of you!!
I just ate a supertasty bacon-peanut butter-banana cookie in honor of your day. Thanks for being born!
PS: and thanks Pugsley's mom for reminding us :)

I feel your pain. Mom finally got a job, so she can afford more agility trials. She just can't afford to drive there!
Maybe we can write to this Libya guy?
Gracie
Hi Pug,
Mom's pocket-book is hurting too. Especially when she has to fill up the Runner. Prices are high here too, but not like San Fran.
Great pic posing by gas prices.
Hugs,
Suki
Puglet! I can never convert the American gas prices to Canadian ones but since I also have a similar Mazda, I know that I pay $60 to fill it--luckily in Ottawa prices are relatively low (2 hours away it costs $70). Libya is making the prices go up but his friend Bahrain is also helping. I'm just glad the snow is gone so we can start biking! Beulah and Barney need their foodz!
Love the pho-toe of you posing on the gas sign. Boy is car juice high in SF. We're still under $4 but just barely her in VA.
If you get Libya's address, send it this way. I want to let our peep's in Washington DC know how to get in touch. Hu-mom said they will talk to him/her.
Keep up the good work!
Drools and licks,
Minnie and Mack
Holy tamales, Puglet! That is A LOT of monies! Maybe you can ask Mazda if it would mind going on a little diet and lay off the juice a bit so there is cookie monies left for you and Dutch. Let's write a letter to this Libya person, too. Maybe he doesn't really understand how vital it is to have cookie and bull penis monies. I think we should tell him.
Snorts and snarfles,
Bella
The expensive car juice is affecting me too. The trips to the dog park have decreased quite a bit lately.
Mum says we are not as bad off as the other Canadian Sabrina, it's only costing $55 to feed our car here in Winnipeg.
If you get hold of this Libya person and convince him/her to reduce the price of the car juice for some cookies, I'll chip in some of mine too.
Licks,'
Sabrina
So Libya (and the Brain dude) is messing with the price of *everyone's* car juice? So not cool.
My human says it's kinda political and about more than just how much it costs to feed our cars. But I'm not allowed to talk about politics (or sex or religion) here on the DP, so for me, it's all about expensive car juice and fewer cookies.
I'll check with Google to see if I can find an address or something.
PS:
Suki ~ before Mazda, my human used to drive a Runner too. Now The Man has it and he said it costs $75 to feed it! And it eats soooo much more than Mazda. I hope it doesn't eat all your cookies >:(
Hi Puglet,
You are so right, the price of this car juice is out of control. My mom put some in her car the other day, and she started saying things I've never heard before, but I sorta felt like I shouldn't repeat anyway. That car juice was something like $75.00. If you find this Libya person please tell him/her to reduce the price of car juice or mom's going to cut back on my pug meetups. No car juice, no meetup. Big bummer!
Love ya'
Lucy
Hi Puglet,
Gas here in WV is $3.89 a gallon. Crazy. And my mom is driving a truck and I keep hearing her talk about getting rid of it, which makes me sad because we go on many road trips in that truck and camping too. Maybe we should join together, all Pugs as one, and ask Libya to just be nice, and stop messing w/ the car juice.
Talk to you soon,
Love and snarfles,
Sadie Pug
Maybe fewer car trips could mean more walks! More walks, less car juice, more cookies!
Just sayin'...
My brother and I are known to produce lots of pug gas... can human use that for cars??
ps. our dad called us "manatees" and "no more golden chicken!!" what?? what is Manatee?
Whopping 13 lbs curvy Sammy
It cost my folk $35 to feed to Prius yesterday and they were totally whining about it. Mom used to drive an SUV, a Trailblazer, but then gas got too expensive. We get on average 46-49 mpg in the Prius... we call it Red Hot!
Let us know how to get ahold of Libya and Brain- maybe we could start a pug and non-pug petition?
Lafayette Lola
ps- tell your mom to check out the Gas Buddy app on her Droid. Tells you where the cheapest gas is. We got $3.99 gas in Concord over the weekend
Hey Pug,
The cost of car juice is really cutting into the lifestyle we have grown accustomed to. Somebody really needs to do something about this or we'll never do anything or eat again!
The good thing is that you live in SF and they let dogs on public transportation, even BART, they say no but our human sees dogs on BART everyday on her way to school. Maybe you can give that a try; the dogs aren't even in shopping bags
Luv, Zoey & Phoebe
Mom says she's lucky, that her boss pays for her car juice because she drives so much! So my trips to the dog parks or on adventures in moms car hasn't stopped. Dad just bought a new man truck, and he was going to take me and Spencer to the snow...but I had my surgery then car juice is too high.
Mom says not to worry though, she'll give up her coffee before I have to give up my trips to the dog park or doggie daycare.
Um Lola....where is that gas in Concord?? We live in Concord!!
Grrr.... My mom's car (yes, I said mom) is one of those high-bred thingys so she doesn't have to feed it as often. Apparently, it was sick and was eating more than it should. With the rising price of car juice she had to take it to the vet and they put in a new ginormous part that fixed its appetite. It cost a lot to fix, but she hopes the savings in juice will pay off. She promises she'll keep me in food and treats though!!
Dear Puglet,
We have a Runner and it cost us 75 cookies to feed it over the weekend, in Denver, so I'll let my human know that we need to be unhappy about Libya too! Our human said she misses her Jetta. I don't know who this Jetta is, but I think I might be glad Jetta isn't here to have to share cookies with.
Our human is contemplating giving up a shoe habit so we can still afford cookies. She must love us a LOT!
Thanks for highlighting this very important pug issue!
XOXO,
Coco
Oooh, Lola ~
Thanks for the GasBuddy info (www.gasbuddy.com if your human doesn't have a dumb Droid). My human was all happy last week when she found car juice for $4.05/gallon near Lily + Harry's house (by Berkeley). Your mom must have been dancing for $3.99!
Happy Birthday Petunia and Pugsley!!!!
Happy Birthday Petunia!
Happy Birthday Pugsley!
Birthday smoochies and yummy cookies for you both.
Love ya'
Lucy
Hey there Bellatrix! Gas Buddy told us to go the station right in front of Costco on Monument (not the Costco gas station, but right next door- the Arco station. We just looked it up for you, and today's low price is $4.05. You have to pay cash or they charge .45 cents to use your card.
Lafayette Lola
Puglet,
Tell everyone to move to New Jersey, our human paid $3.53 on Sunday and they pump it for her.
She says she goes to NJ to see her "man", but I really think it is for the car juice because here in Maryland where we live it is $3.85.
Gabby and Gunnie
Puglet,
The price of gas juice is outrageous! I can't wait for the prices to come down and when they do, I'm gonna throw a Spam, bacon and cookie party to celebrate...hopefully soon!
Go Sabres!
Heya Gabby and Gunnie!
I asked my human if we could move to New Jersey to save money on Mazda food. She says she'd rather stay here, pay the extra 84 cents and pump it herself.
PS: My human is from New Jersey. And get this - when she got her first car, juice cost 99 cents a gallon. Uhm, I think we should all move back to 1991!
Hi Noodle!
Soooo glad you are calling your hu-mom MOM! That is awesome. Congradulations!
Hugs,
Suki
Humm, we just talked to our human about this, about the $56.00 it cost to fill Gretta the Jetta in Truckee this weekend, and our lack of goodies. She said look at it this way, your lack of goodies is because of your girth. And, think about this, its less money for grooming, those "wonderfull" baths and, um rear "expresses" we get...of course the $800 tooth cleaning/cyst removal for Tessa didn't help either. In any case, she assures us we will have food on the table!
Hey Puglet,
Guess what our human is from California too!
She grew up in San Jose, but used to hang out a lot in San Francisco and in Santa Cruz by the beach. She just told us when she got her first car in CA that car juice was .50 cents a gallon and she had to wait in line to get it every other day, guess our human is older than your human?
If we had our choice we would like to live in:
#1 in Washington State where the Grandhumans (they spoil us)
#2 in New Jersey because it would make our human happier to be closer to the "man".
#3 back in beautiful California. My human says it is number 3 because of traffic and housing prices.
Being close to the man has it's benefits:
#1 - If our human is happy the treats flow to us at a higher rate.
# 2 - The man does not like cats - but we love him! Maybe it is because he always smells so good and he gives us extra treats and toys to leave him alone.
We knew instantly that the man was not a cat lover, so we super-bombarded him with kitty love and affection and we now have him eating out of our paws. heehee
Cat's are really experts about figuring out all the best angles to finagle things from humans. You ever need help finagling anything from your human, give us a call!
Hi Puglet,
This morning our mom found car juice for $3.59 a gallon so she whipped the Rogue in and filled up. No idea what it costs to fill Rogues tank but she runs like a top after she eats.
Happy Birthday Pugsley and Petunia...enjoy your special day.
We think there should be a day during the year to honor us Pugs...what do you think!
Ellie, Emmitt and Eli from San Antonio
HAPPY BIRTHDAY PUGLSEY AND PETUNIA!!!
We are heading to Kentucky from Calif to go to the nationals. Mom said that we may not be able to eat on the way so that Yukon can have juice. Boka is very worried, he said he wants to stay home with grandma because she feeds him lots of snacks. I'm not worried as long as I have my ball I'm happy! And being a girl I'm smarter then Boka so I know mom would never make us go hungry. She was just teasing Boka because he thinks that the world is all about cookies and eating.
I heard our moms talking about some super special project that included cookies, nikon, you and hopefully me. They said we would work on it when we got back from our trip.
See ya when we get back.
Miley the smart spotted girl
From 1 awesome California Birthday Pug (Pugsley) to another: -- Pugsley sends B-day snisses (Pugsley's "special" combo of a sneeze & a kiss) to Petunia!
My new friends in SA, Ellie, Emmitt and Eli!! (I will call you 3Es) I totally agree with you guys. Why not make Puglet's b-day as national holiday= aka Pugs'day? Heck, let's do the whole month as Pug awareness month!! It will be a national holiday month! We do not need to go to work !! Wait... I don't go to work?!?!?
Sammy
Yes! Pug (and friends) awareness month. We could teach humans how important it is to feed pugs (and others) cookies... no matter what the stupid scale says.
Hey Miley ~
Thanks for the 411. Interesting... I haven't heard anything about any special project and I can hear the word 'cookies' for like miles. Please hurry and go on your trip so you get back faster.
Puglet your are wise!!! $52 could probably by you lots of cookies. I hope Libya heard you :D
First of all happy B-Day for Petunia (such a sweet name) and Pugsley !!! Hope it was very special day for both of you:)
... and car juice :(
last year we had hysteria here in Poland because 1 liter of c-juice reached the level of 4 zł.. now it's more then 5 :( not good at all...
My mom does not drive a car, so we walk (heavens!everywhere!) or go by bus or train.
My favorite transport also eats that juice my mom told me. Ticket prices are soaring in Berlin and service remains the same - bad!
Dogs are allowed into busses and trains only when wearing a muzzle. Now you tell me how my pug nose would support a muzzle! My mom has been having some heated discussions with bus drivers demanding me wearing that awful thing on my non-existing nose. One look of the bus drivers at me - they usually laugh and let us enter the bus. Why should they be laughing anyway?
Libya is in sincere problems not only concerning the oil. Every day many innocent people get killed while their only wish is to live in a free democracy and enjoy human rights for once. This is the reason that I would like to meet that Lybia man and tell him a few things regarding humanity and freedom!
The same happend in other Arab states, like in Egypt in January. My mom and I have been finding hospital treatment for some of the seriously wounded here in Berlin, as they cannot be treated in their home country for lack of clinics and medical facilities.
I have seen these patients arriving at the airport here (I go everywhere with my mom, short of supermarkets), and I was so sad because many of them are blind due to shots received to their eyes during the revolution and they could not see me. But they hugged my mom and gave me a kind of pet on my cute pug head. I licked their hands in return. This is what I thought was best in this situation, letting them know that I feel for them. The Egypt man is in prison now, says my mom so we hope the same for the Libya guy.
Concerned greetings from Berlin
Carlos
Puglet and Sammy
We need more pug speak about this Pug National Holiday / Month / Birthday thingie. Heck even if its just on Puglets site, it could be awesome.
The Three E's from San Antonio
Wait til Lucy the house cat hears about our new name, she'll be so jealous !!!
Misiober ~
I asked Google to do some math and a gallon of Polish car juice would be like $7 in America.
Yikes!
Hi Carlos,
My human said the Libya thing is about more than expensive car juice, but I didn't know it was bad stuff like that. Sooo sad! I'm super glad you and your mom are helping them.
No eyes? Hospital? We are so lucky Libya is only messing with the price of car juice here in America.
PS: We have the same muzzle rule on the trains here. My human thought she'd have to argue about me not having anything to muzzle too :P
Puglet,
Do you know that Canada is the largest exporter of crude oil to the U.S. but we pay more for car juice here than you guys?
And not only that, EVERYTHING costs more: milk, bread, carrots, (bacon!), cars, electronics, etc. On average, stuff you need to live, is anywhere from 20 to 60% more expensive over here. Crazy!
Hi Puglet,
Thanks for your reply. It is pretty bad what is happening in Libya and Egpyt, also in Syria and some Gulf states. Thanks for your nice words!
My mom says that we in the Western world are lucky that we enjoy freedom and our civil rights. Now I do not know what civil rights are, other than that I can refuse some cookies sometimes which I do not like however incredible this may sound. But I can imagine it is pretty bad not being able to chose your cookies. Or other pug things like barking when you like and tell the Libya man what I think of him.
Your mom should argue about us having to wear muzzles on trains - after all we are not normal dogs but pugs. Makes a lot of a difference I think. My mom told one busdriver that she is going to knit a muzzle for me - oh great! Blue, please ...
Some of my Egyptian patients have regained their eye sight after surgery. They can see me when I bring them to the airport very soon. We are proud that Berlin hospitals have donated their treatment and all related costs. We are on pug world!
Hello from Carlos
That car juice is really expensive, isn't it? On the corner a block and a half away there's a sign just like that one -- only the first number on it is 4.39! I don't usually get my car juice there, though. Last time I went a bit north, near the area where your Aunt Michele lives with Tiffy...car juice is a little bit less there! Gotta save those green papers for foodables!
Thanks for the shout out to Petunia, Puglet. She was 2 this week (and had a good day filled with walks, bully sticks, and lots of belly rubs). She is a very special girl. Maybe she is your type, eh?
