SYMPATHY BANANA?

Well, our trip to Planet Best Buy turned out to be waaaaay more boring than a trip to any planet should be. Dutch fell asleep after the first ten minutes of standing around waiting to talk to someone in a blue shirt. I fell asleep about ten minutes later. My human gave up on the whole thing sometime after that and woke us both up to go home. Droidless.

I wasn't sure if *not* getting a new Droid would help my chances of scoring sympathy cookies on the walk home, or hurt them. You'd think no new Droid = more sympathy = definitely cookies, right? Well, that's what I thought too. Until my human parked us here:

I know a lot of you probably like bananas. Maybe even love them. Not me. Because bananas are mushy and slimy and nasty and gross. Unless they're hidden in bacon and peanut butter. My human totally knows this too. But did that stop her from buying me a banana when what I really wanted was a cookie (or five)?

No. It did not.

I guess she tried to make the whole thing less gross by getting me a special "pug-sized" banana. Uhm. Yeah. Just because you call something pug-sized doesn't make it taste good. A gross banana is still a gross banana no matter how little it is.

Unlike me, Dutch is a freak and thinks bananas are the bomb. His words, not mine. He was so in love with yesterday's banana, he tried to eat it while my human was taking his picture. No joke. He took a great big bite of the thing. Icky peel, mushy banana and everything.

Even my human was a little weirded out when Dutch swallowed the nasty peely thing, but he swears the outside is the best part. I'm not sure I believe him but I guess it doesn't get much grosser than what's on the inside.

I have never seen a dog eat a banana! Are you sure it's ok because of his recent tummy drama?

Not sure if banana peels are the best thing for us dogs. Some articles say they can clog a dogs's stomach, and Dutch sure doesn't need that.

Oh....Puglet banana's are good for you. I like them, they are
sweet and I like the mushy part. I will ask my mom to mix it with peanut butter. Now that sounds good!!
Thanks for listening!!! King Edward the Pug!!

I feel you pug! I have been in to Best Buy so many times and haven't YET gotten anyone to help me that I didn't have to drag over first. Worst customer service by far...

Pug-

My mommy and I don't like bananas either. My daddy loves them though.
He loves them so much he was excited when a frozen banana food truck came to town. Yup frozen banana food truck.
He made my mom get some and I must say frozen mushed banana isn't that bad when you put pineapple, coconut and whipped cream on it!!!
My mom said it was pug friendly ice cream (apparently I'm getting tubey and need to lose weight)

Pug, First off, you are sooooo lucky you & Dutch get to go IN stores (and planets). We always have to wait in the car...

I have some sad news to share w/my internet friends. My brother Vinny (a 3yr. old pug rescue who came to live w/us a few months ago) took a dive off the back of the couch Monday evening. We don't know if he slipped and fell or just did a maniac jump. Anyway he broke his right, front leg VERY BADLY. Geez, can he ever scream! My humans took him to his doctor right away and then to a special doctor yesterday morning. The special doctor said the break was so bad ane included his elbow joint too (whatever that is, so the special doctor had to take Vinny's leg off. Geez, I didn't know my human mama and daddy could cry so much. It made me very sad too. Later today my mama is going to bring him home from the special doctor's office and I have to be "extra special nice" to him. He'll probably get lots of extra cookies so I probably will too :). I'll keep you posted.

Kisses, Kisses,
Mercy

My human gives me a taste of banana every time he eats one. I go crazy for banana. Puglet, you don't know what you're missing... On the planet Best Buy thing, don't bother. They are the worst, unless you're a geek with a propeller thingy poking out of their head. Try Newegg or Amazon.world. They actually have customer service.

@Mercy: I'm so sorry about your brother's accident =( How traumatic for your humans; it made me cry just reading about it. Our prayers & best wishes that Vinny heals and adapts well! Please slip in an update on his progress when you can. xoxox

I'm not a banana kind of guy-they just taste kind of "blah" to me.

Did the chicken feet come out yet? Or is you tummy still enjoying them.

Mercy - lots of pug hugs to your bro Vinny. We are so sorry he had to lose his leg. Poor puggy :( be very nice to him for a long while.

Pug - we love bananas and go bananas when mom cuts them up for her cereal or lunch. We have to have some!! They are supposed to make you not want to eat poo, but sister Molly still does...

Oh no, Mercy. So very sad and sorry to hear about your foster brother, Vinny and his poor leg. I hope he's feeling better soon- and no more couch diving for him!

Mercy, we are sending lots of JuJu for your bro Vinny. Our human says she had a dog once that had a really bad break, and had doggie neurosurgery on ot, and it heeled, but Katy would never use it, because she didn't know it was ok...so Vinny will probably be just fine. Give him snorts from the group.

Oh Puglet sad you didn't get anything! Dutchie you be careful what you eat! Maybe Puglet you could peel for Dutch next time lol

Oh, Mercy! You made my human leak with your story about your new brother pug and his poor leg. He is so lucky that he is in your family and is getting such good care, he might not even miss that leg once he feels better but he should be advised that the back of the couch is a bit too high to leave in a hurry like that. That must have been so scary for everyone. :o(

He'll smell funny for a while, like when he first cam to your house, but funnier, but he's still the same Vinny, please do be nice to him.

Puglet, we love bananas but when you said with peanut butter, we had to do the happy dance because that sounds REALLY REALLY great. We will keep you posted!

We hope Vinny is feeling much better.

Mercy, So sorry to hear about Vinny. We will be thinking of him and your family today and in the coming days. We hope Vinny heals quickly and perks up in spite of leg being gone. It's soooooooo sad.

Puglet, Me and my pack LOVE bananas, but mom noticed that we only scarf them down if she takes a bite first. If she doesn't then we have to smell them a long time and sort of take a little lick before we eat them. Great to have a taster in the family.

My pug LOVED bananas. He could be asleep in the other side of the house. You'd very quietly open the banana (you never were sure if it was the snap of the stem that brought him) and start to eat, and then you'd get the paw on the leg. "FEED ME!" Pugs use telepathy, you know. Bananas were a fave.

By the way, I agree with you. Getting a bug up the nose is painful... and nobody ever tried to spit up my nose to remedy the situation.

Rock on, Pug!
