HOUSE OF JOBS

Our downtown adventure was supposed to end at Urban Outfitters. But I was having so much fun, I asked my human if we could visit some other places. It was warm and sunny so she was totally ok with that.

I wasn't sure where I wanted to go, exactly. Compared to UO, most of the stores looked kinda boring.... until I saw the Apple store. AKA, House of Jobs. Y'know, as in Steve.

If you've been reading the Daily Puglet for awhile you probably know about my human's, uh, issues with Apple/Steve Jobs. But she was still supersad when he died last week because even though the stuff he created makes her lose 100 IQ points anytime she even looks at it, Steve Jobs was still a creative genius and she loves geniuses (even when they make her feel dumb).

Anyway. The HOJ looked so cool there was no way we weren't going in. Besides, I knew everyone in there would have an iPhone to point at me.
So after a little begging my human agreed to take me inside - as long as she didn't have to touch anything (the whole IQ point thing). I didn't care what she did, I just wanted to meet some iPhones.

And did I meet some iPhones! Lots and lots of iPhones. I guess there was other iStuff too, like iPads and whatever, ut all I really cared about was the phones.

So I posed on the ubercool stairs on the way up to visit the Genius Bar- iPhone iPhone iPhone
.

Then I posed with some ubercool Apple dudes at the Genius Bar. iPhone iPhone iPhone.

Forget about living at Urban Outfitters. Even though the Apple store also had zero food, I could totally live at the House of Jobs. I think the only place cooler than the Apple store would be a Nikon store and I don't think there even is such a thing. At least not here in San Francisco.

I wanted to stay at the HOJ forever so I tried to blend in with the Geniuses upstairs, but Dutch wanted to visit some store that has a lot of pink stuff so we had to leave. Everyone at Apple was ridiculously nice and my human didn't seem to lose any IQ, so I think she'll take me there again. Hopefully soon.

Totally completely ridiculously awesome!

Don't tell my human, but I'm secretly plotting to kill HAL4 so she has to buy a new computer. I think she hates Dell more than she's afraid of Apple so it might mean a trip to the HOJ!!

Puglet!! You are so good at finding photo ops. The HOJ was perfect and way cool..especially those stairs...I love stairs! Now, just plot out a way to get rid of HAL4 and you might be onto something...so wish I could help ya!

That is a cool staircase, but I have vertigo and just looking at the picture made me queasy. I'd have to take the elevator!

Hi Pug!
Wow you got to go to the HOJ too?! I've been to the one in Austin. They are super-duper nice. But they don't have the awesome stairs.

Suki

Puglet your HOJ is totaly GREAT!!! you should see our A-store hahaha :) I'm iphone girl for few months now. I've always thought that all I need is a phone, and the best phone is BB phone, Iphone has big "I" part and just a little "phone" part, and I love this "I" part :)My friend told me that Iphone will change my life, it didn't but my life with it is more colorful and brighter with all those photo apps and other funny apps ;) my pugs has worse life with it though :)
I love (as usual) today's pics but the one with you going downstairs is FANTASTIC ! :) can't what happens tomorrow :) hugs Gosia

how can a store named afte a yummy treat be bad to your human?? I like the posing on the stairs, you look so regal or something. I think the official mascot of Apple should be ...well you! How could they go wrong?

Puglet, that is so cool you paid tribute to Steve Jobs! He truly was a visionary.

I wish we had more picture of the people pointing their iphones at you--that would have been cool to see!

Also, when are we going to get another video of you modeling? We so want to see you at work!!

I am loving those stairs! And Pug, you look super cool on them. I have no doubt that there were iPhone clicks every second with you roaming the store. The one around here is in a mall, so I'll have to get my parents to take me to the one in Chicago. You were right, this week is awesome...can't wait to hear more!
Love,
Payton

Hiya Dallas Maggie ~

The HOJ stairs are the best, right? I asked Google about the best way to kill a PC and apparently viruses will do it. Do you know anything about viruses??

Barbara ~

Just between us, the glass on the sides of the stairs kinda confused me. I didn't even know there was anything there until I walked right into it and my face smushed against the glass :(

Hiya Suki ~

Stairs or no stairs, I'm glad you got to go. Isn't the HOJ awesome? I mean, it's not the House of Meat - but for a place with zero food it's very cool.

No offense to Steve Jobs, but apples are NASTY! Dutch like them but I don't. At all.

If I ever had my own empire I'd call it Bacon. And you know the logo would have a bite out of it :)

Hi Anonymous ~

I asked my human about showing more iPhone-fest pictures but she said something about not wanting to violate her No Faces/No Dog Butts policy.

You couldn't see my butt or anything, but people's faces were totally in focus and my human is a complete anonymity freak or something. She said you'd understand, being Anonymous and all.

No idea.

THE PUGLET said...

Heya Payton ~

Maybe you could go to the Chicago HOJ with Tiffy. I know her mom has Apple issues too and a visit to The House might make fer feel better.

PS: I won't name names, but apparently the iPad makes certain people angry and/or dumber than usual.

I totally get it Puglet, that's why I'm anonymous!

Hi Puglet,
HOJ looks like a cool place, cept our mom would have a hard time walking on the glass steps. She gets 'squeezy' if she walks on steps that aren't solid. Heck, she gets dizzy looking over the edges of high places.

As for apples, we don't like them either unless they are made into 'APPLE PIE'.

puglet, i love your blog but dont you dare kill hal4 to try and get your mom to buy an hoj computer! if she has a gimpy brain, an hoj computer will make it worse. she'll spend all her time trying to figure it out, and that means no walks, no treats, and no dp. it would be very sad. tell her she needs to make a friend who builds computers, cuz you don't have to buy one pre-made ya know. they can help her pick out all the parts she would need and put it together. just like treats, home made are best!

Payton - that photo of you on the stairs is awesome. No wonder everyone's iPhones were pointed at you. If you want to go back to HOJ, maybe you can get one of those blue shirts that the people that live there wear. I'm sure you could sell an iPhone just as good as one of those humans. -Love, Sid.

Sorry, PUGLET! I just got through reading about Payton on her blog and I still had her on my brain! LOL!

Hey Puglet! I can't agree with you about the apples - i'm mad for them, even if they do give me, um, certain side effects. My human said to tell you she loves her apple thingies, so she was super sad this week. I found out that not only was Steve Jobs a genius, he loved pugs too. Here's the evidence http://www.marginlines.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/Walking-his-Pug-300x225.jpg
I don't know if that pug is still around, but it makes me really sad to think of a pug losing his/her human. I've been sending special mojo ever since my human showed me the picture.

Hi again Pug,

Have you and Dutch ever been kayaking? I went for the first time last weekend. If you have a chanc, stop past Short Tails & check out the video. I can't wait to go again.

Puglet, My human says it's true what they say: once you go Mac, you don't go back. She loves her mac and visits you everyday on it! She was sad about Steve Jobs too, and is glad you got to visit the forever famous Apple, aka House of Jobs

Puglet i don't know how on earth they let you in one of those Apple stores--you must be ubercool! And all those iphones, I'm jealous! and I'm human! lol really liked this post today. Steve Jobs would have hired you in an instant!

Pug, your HOJ looks wayyyyyy cooler than the one we have here!!! Again, fantastic supermodeling! I wish you luck killing HAL4 because the i version is much better and your human would totally love it with some classes. Andayne with the classes that would mean more trips to the geniuses. I love my Mac!

Hi Puglet,
Glad you got to visit an Apple store, especially one with such a super cool website! You look like you own the place! One day near our old house, my humom found a cute little pug who was taking a stroll by herself...well, we took her home with us, looked at her collar tags, and made a few calls. Her name was Baby, and she belonged to Steve Jobs! We knew where he lived and returned his precious darling to her beautiful yard. She had escaped through a gate that had been left open! That's our little happy dog story to offset the total sadness of of Steve
Jobs's passing away:(

I meant to say "cool staircase" not website...blame the gimpy paws!

Mimi ~

That's exactly what my human says! Well, the part about Macs making her gimpy brain gimpier. She didn't say *anything* about no cookies.

THE PUGLET said...

Hiya Sid ~

Y'know, I think HOJ blue is a lot like the blue on my human's new Pugs Not Drugs t-shirt. Maybe I could just use that?

THE PUGLET said...

Rocky & Eddie ~

Holy. I had no idea Steve Jobs was a pug person! I don't think my human would have believed it without the picture *and* the Baby story. Because you know what she said when I asked if Apple needed a mascot? She said Steve Jobs was a design fanatic and pugs are too "poorly designed" to represent Apple and all its iStuff.

Can you believe that?? I mean, obviously Mr. Jobs knew something about pugs my human doesn't.

THE PUGLET said...

Hey Suki ~

I saw your kayaking! Awesome :) I've never been (no idea why) but my cousin Sophie in NJ does it a lot. She has the same vesty thing as you :)

THE PUGLET said...

Hi Maile ~

Whenever we go into a store, my human says she'll bludgeon us if we even think about peeing. I don't know what "bludgeon" means, but the way she says it makes me not want to find out.

THE PUGLET said...

Hi Paula,

Thanks! I'll tell my human about the classes. We do have some iStuff in our house - Tofu the iPad, Chewie the laptop (renamed from 'Mac' after the labradors attacked it) and a few pod things.

Tofu just makes her swear, so it lives in a drawer in a ziploc bag and only comes out for special Frolic stuff. Chewie lives on our couch and has been slowly dying since the attack. Chewie's held together by duct tape, but email and Google still work.

Puglet you should become new face of HOJ as Puglet the iPug :)

Update on the t-shirt thing!
We found a womens edition of the pugs not drugs shirt on Ebay.

Here's the link:

My Mommy will probably get this one hoping that it fits better than the men's edition.

Puglet, your HOJ looks fascinating (probably because you were in it^^). His houses in Germany are nothing compared to that.

Hugs from Germany.
