S.Y.O.P.

Before I tell you all about the secret 1k Pugs thing that nobody but us will know about until later today, I want to give a huge thanks to everyone who told their story yesterday. I've sent them to our favorite Pug Rescue Lady and she will make sure all the little voices are heard. Paws crossed someone at the rescue listens to them.

Ok. Now for the secret. My human's been trying to figure out a way to let everyone be part of 1000 Pugs. You don't really know my human, but she's hugley big on being fair. To everyone. Which I think is pretty much impossible, but whenever I tell her this, she just tells me to shut up.

Anyway. I guess
some folder in her the 1000 Pugs email called 'Non-tour State' has been kinda driving her nuts. And so has the idea of non-pugs and the pug-fractions (ie, puggles) being left out. So she came up with the idea to have a monthly 1000 Pugs 'Shoot Your Own Pug' photo contest. Anyone with a human and a camera can now kinda be part of 1000 Pugs.

For everyone here on the DP who's a non-pug or pug-fraction, we'll have a special Dutch version of the contest. We don't want anyone to feel like a zero. Or a Jan.

The best part about all this is each month's contest will have a theme and the first theme will be food. I don't know all the details yet, but I'm 99% sure this food will be Turkey Day food. My human will post about it on the 1000 Pugs facebook page later today, but I'll fill everyone in on it tomorrow too.

I'll be out on a mission for most of the day, but my human always reads me your comments - even from Droid. Hopefully I'll have a very cool happy-ending story for you tomorrow...

My puggie and Riley boys will be so happy to hear about the monthly contest so that they can be part of the 1k pugs as well since we don't have a pug rescue in Utah.

I love that Dutch is going to doa non-pug/pug-fraction contest on this site.
I am still hoping your human will consider Winnipeg as her one Canadian stop, but if not I'm all for entering your "shoot your own pug" contest. Please thank your human for this fair compromise.
Can't wait to hear about today's mission.
Licks,
Sabrina

Sounds fun! We are very excited to hear the details! We are also very excited to be able to purchase 1k pug stuff when it comes out (i.e. t-shirts)...maybe you can make 1000 pugs themed sweaters for dogs! Ha! Pug would love a #1 sweater I am sure.

Pug, your Human has brilliant ideas, and photo contest is no exception. I love my pugs most in the world, and my favorite activity is taking pictures... of my pugs :)
So I'm extremely happy we can be part of 1000 Pugs :)
.. but Turkey Day can be a problem :) we do have turkeys here in Poland but no special day like your Turkey Day. Since turkey can be a problem (belive me or not but I've never eaten one), I asked google and learned that there are other Turkey Day's meals, so hopefully there will be small choice of TD meal, and we will shut (and eat) something :) hugs Misiober

All these ideas on how to include everyone (pugs, half-pugs, non-pugs and non-canine) are great.

But what's got my nose twitching is that Golden (whole with skin!) Chicken. When your first photo is meat, it's kind of hard to concentrate on anything else.

The Spike Monster is super excited to think that he could be included. We were not sure if you would be able to come to Denver, and he does not travel well. Although the Colorado Pug Rescue (where he came from) is pretty special.

Spike sure does love to model!

Pug, you are so lucky to have a human like you do...I love the picture of you, our human says we look the same way when we look at food. I wish 1000 pugs was coming to WI. Maybe you could talk your human into doing that? Love Butch and Sundance.

Yippee!! I'm so excited that I can participate in the non-pug part of 1000 Pugs! What a great idea :)

Does Dutch get to judge this contest??

OMG Pugglet, we are so excited. Now all felines, non-pugs and pug-fractions can be proud and hold heads high. We love your human for thinking up this contest idea. We will work on being very, very obnoxiously cute and with the holiday season almost upon us, we ought to have plenty of photo ops! Only downside to all of this that Mom can see is that food makes us crazy and we may go poodle on each other but hey, that might increase the photo ops!

Awesome idea ! I am just catching up with DP as my human could not comment last few days...

Payton, glad it is B word, not C. Yay!!

Glad Emi found her furever home, thought 3E would take her to make it 4E, but guess not this time. Getting cold in MN, in 20th in the morning. Stay warm !

We love the monthly contest idea! The more the merrier, especially if there's pugs, non-pugs & pug-fractions, that's still very pug-centric.

Have fun on your mission!

P.S. my word verification for this post is "dogings". hmmmmmm

The contest for pug-fractions, like me, a puggle is a great idea! Especially since it looks like you are not going to be able to make it into Washington DC for Mack.

Hope the honking as left your house.
Salinger's brother, Holden, has it now!

Drools and licks,

Food is good. Can't wait to get the details. Speaking of food, Bacon is food and I know what you think of Bacon. Tell your Humom to check out the Wireless Catalog. They have a t-shirt that says Bacon is like meat candy. They also have adhesive bandages, tree ornaments, a scarf and lights on a string. As soon as i saw them I thought of you.

ok, my brain is gimpy today...what if I have a whole pug, but you won't be touring my state? I can enter the contest still? :S
Tell human she is more than awesome for all she does.

Woohoo! Yay for contests! Makes me wish I had a picture of a moment from seven years ago: my friends and I hosted a Turkey Day dinner and we had just put the Turkey on the table. We all scattered to get the last items for dinner set, and when we cam back we saw a little 3lb Marble-kitten "grooming" the turkey!

Uh, I'm with Ollie, once I saw that golden chicken...it was hard to concentrate on anything else you had to say Puglet, but I did and really excited about all your news! Glad I'm a pug but glad all the non-pugs don't have to feel like a Jan! And, can't wait for the tour to get to Dallas...I'll be front row and center for my photo shoot!

Your self restraint in that picture is AMAZING!!! I have no idea how you can hold yourself back from wolfing down that sweet, juicy, delicious golden chicken lauuuugghhh... Um... Sorry. Anyway, Mommy and I are very excited for the Dutch version of the 1000 Pugs contest! Your human is one of the nicest people I (don't) know. Please send her our thanks!!!

margie said...

Puglet that is self control!! That chicken would of been mine in 10 seconds, no trace, no chicken!!! The contest sounds really interesting! Keep us posted. Hope Dutch is feeling better.

Crabbie Chris said...

how is that chicken not totally in your belly right now?? I'd be all over that in a heartbeat. I almost attacked the damn computer!
Once again, my dreamy Dutch looks amaze balls.

We love the idea because none of the stops are anywhere close to us (Indianapolis, IN would be a great location)! Mama thinks we are very photogentic ... of course, we think she's crazy! Love Zoe, Peyton, Webster and Liberty

If you are going to turn SYOP into another FB page, I'll be happy to help by being an admin or moderator. I know your human can do everything by phone and such...but I got time. LOTS of time. :}

Ooooh MizzTree,

My human wrote you an email about that today, but only in her head (that happens A LOT). Look for a real email in a little while.

Gimpy brained thumbs says THANKS!
