PURGATORY?

We usually go for a really long walk first thing in the morning. But not today. Today my human rushed us to the park for a pee, dumped some food in our bowls and made a break for the door. When I asked where she was going, y'know what she said?

"Purgatory. And no, you can't come."

Then she left. Just like that. Without me and Dutch. I hate when my human goes new places without us. I always feel like I'm missing out on something. Sometimes she'll come home smelling like other dogs too and that kinda freaks me out.

So I asked Google about this purgatory place and got a bunch of different answers:

* a ski resort in Colorado
* a golf course in Indiana

* a place or state of temporary suffering or misery

I don't think my human is golfing or skiing and I hope she isn't suffering or in misery. Uhm, have any of your humans ever gone to purgatory? Have you ever gone there? I mean, do they even allow dogs?? I'm seriously wondering why me & Dutch weren't allowed to go.

My human said that when she had a job (she as laid off last week, whatever that means) she sometimes called in purgatory. It sounds like she definitately wanted to stay home with you and Dutch then go to purgatory.

Puglet, Here in Northern Virgina, we are in a Snowy Purgatory! 32 inches fell over the weekend, way, way too deep for walks! Lots of shoveling, too! Check it out: http://cardiganshirecorgis.blogspot.com/ . California sounds might good today!

Puglet... I know how you feel... I hate it when I get left home alone (well, not completely alone... I have 5 cats to keep me company... whoopie!). When my humans go to work I hang my head and look real sad in the morning.. but when they come home we play to make up for the time they're gone. They say I can't go 'cuz I'd be bored... no way would I be bored if I was getting noticed and attention and oogled over! Maybe someday I'll get to tag along and find out! Know this... if your human called it purgatory... it is no fun... now, pugatory sounds like a party!

Puglet,
My human says going to see the dentist (scary/painful) and the accountant (scary/boring) is purgatory for her. So maybe your human had to go somewhere like that? Sometimes work is purgatory though I don't get it because I love it here.
And yes, there is a purgatory for dogs and its called an anal gland extraction at the vet's office! Every dog out there who's had to do this will agree (ask Dutch).

Hey Puglet, sorry to hear your human might be in purgatory. Doesn't sound like any fun at all. It sucks that you didn't get a long walk this morning either, gosh just when we get a little sun too. I hope you make your human feel better when she gets back home. She's gonna need her some Puglet/Dutch love.

We hope everything is alright with your human. We were worried when we didn't you guys at pug sunday. Now we are even more concerned. Has your human been feeling ok, we hope she is not ill. Our human sometimes goes to the doctor or worse has stayed in the hospital for days at a time & said she was miserable & suffered, like purgatory. Oh, now we are even more worried! Please, please check on her. Take care of her, make sure she is alright & help her with whatever she needs including being on your best behavior & most of all give her lots & lots of dal/pug love.
Luv, Zoey & Phoebe
P.S. if there is anything we or our human can do; let us know & we'll do our best to take care of it

I second what 3pugs2luv said... I am worried about your human...

Oh, Bellatrix, Phoebe & Zoey, you are *so* nice.

We missed PugSun yesterday because we hiked with the cows and got kinda lost then got stuck on the Bay Bridge for like an hour and half. By the time we got home, Pugsun was over :(

I asked my human if she's sick and she said no. I guess purgatory can be a place called Jury Duty? I heard her tell the phone that something at Jury Duty made her really sad. Like, leaky kinda sad.

I've only ever seen my human leak about hurt or sleeping dogs (and murdered dolphins). I wonder what they do to you at this Jury place???

ditto the above to SPencer B :)

We hope this doesn't last long!

We are so glad that your human is not ill. We're not sure what jury duty is but our human told us that it's a civic duty that humans are responsible for(still don't know what she's talking about). She says that most of the time it involves lots & lots of waiting but some times you have to listen to human stories that are sometimes very sad or disturbing. She also said that she rather go get a shot at the dr. than go to jury duty. So give her lots of love(of course) & understand that she might be exhuasted when she gets home & that it won't last forever it just feels that way.

My mom says... from one gimpy-brained human to another- get a doctor's note that says 'due to a chronic medical condition' she can't serve on a jury- she'll never be called again. Non-gimpy-brained people don't understand what it's like to lose yourself mid-sentence or forget why you are at the store, etc.
My mom says a doc's note worked very well.
I hope your human is less leaky tomorrow.

Thanks Lola --

OK, get this... my human said it's the doctor's note thing that made her sad!?!

I guess she gave the judge dude something from her doctor that said her brain is gimpy. And the the judge dude called her up to the front of the courtroom, asked a few questions and told her she "seems fine".

I don't know why this made her sad, but she says your gimpy-brained human will probably understand.

No idea. This is all waaaaay beyond a pug like me.

We almost forgot to let everybody know that this thursday at Joe's Crab Shack -Fisherman's Wharf, there will be a fundraiser for PugSavers - Pug Rescue from 5pm - 10pm. All you have to do is go to their website & printout the Joe's Crabshack flyer & take it with you then give it to the people at Joe's crabshack & they will give 10% of your bill to PugSavers. Unfortunately pugs can't go...some humans are funny about pugs inside restraunts but we'll give up our human for a little while if it means it will help needy pugs.

That judge dude doesn't get it. I bet he doesn't have sticky-notes all over the place to remind about little stuff like my mom does. My mom says that unless she tells someone her 'story', they can never tell. She says everyone thinks she's uber-efficient because she does everything right away- they don't realize that she'll forget otherwise.
I love my mom's gimpy brain- she forgets sometimes that I've already had a treat, so I get another one!
We hope she has a better day tomorrow-

My human looks for the silver lining in icky stuff and she found some silver in your human's trip to purgatory without you. Silver means good so that makes your silver chin hairs good too! Now where was I? Oh yes--purgatory.

Anagram for Purgatory: Rotary Pug

My human thinks a Rotary Pug Club is a silver idea! I asked her what a Rotary Club does so she googled it for me.

A Rotary Club is a service club that gives its members an organized outlet to do something for others which could not be done, at least as well, by the individual working alone.

I think that Rotary Pug Club sounds like a fancy name for a Pug Meetup. My human told me that because I made this brilliant connection she is going to double her donation to Pug Rescue at the next Pug Meetup.

All this thinking has me plum-tuckered out. I hope I get a treat before my morning nap.

Love and kisses on Valentine's Day,

Ruby
