PUG-SIZED TREES

Big fat thank you for giving Lebowski a name! Seeing how gaga everyone went over the dude's big black self, I know it won't take long for him to find new+improved humans.

OK, now back to me. Because yesterday we finally got to do something cool. Yup. Time for the annual trip to visit the trees at Delancey Street. If this is your first tree-holiday with us, Delancey Street isn't really a street. It's
kinda like a rescue group for humans who need a second chance at life.

Every year, Delancey sells the weird leafless trees around the city and every year we go visit them. We've never gotten to bring a tree home, but this year my human said we could. IF we could find a small one. A very, very small one.

Pug-sized
, she said.

I'm no tree expert but do they even make pug-sized trees? Because I looked all over Delancey Street for a tree as big as me and couldn't find any. Most of them were bigger than Dutch.

My human has never been into the whole weird leafless tree thing, so it's a little suspicious that she suddenly wants to bring one home. I'm kinda wondering if she's just saying we can have a pug-sized tree because she knows there's no such thing.
Does anyone here know??

* * *

Both SYOPs are officially over, but these pictures came in before the deadline (my human is just slow). Dutch is having a hard time picking a winner (and a prize that isn't pink) so I'm going to help him over the weekend. We'll let you know on Monday.

There must be something in the air, because my human is in the mood too. First the holiday pie-hater ate some of my pumpkin pie, now she wants a tree. Very strange stuff.

Um...yeah, a pug size tree is going to be a tough one. I'm calling bull crap on that. Mom bought us a mini tinsel glow tree because we have allergies.

Love seeing our cousin Bosco on your blog! We are going to brag to all of our pals now.

Pug! I am definitely in the Christmas mood! It's my favorite time of year. I must say that I think you already found pug sized trees. See Christmas trees are supposed to be bigger than the person, er pug, they are for. So those ones in the picture with the red bow on top should be yours! My mom is crazy so we have a 10 foot tree. It's huge, but very pretty. All it means is more presents for me with fit under it! Keep us posted if you find out what's up with your human!
Love,
Payton

Sometimes they cut the top off a tree that isn't so green at the bottom. That would make it pug-sized.

My favorite picture is Bosco because he made it all the way to the table. My humans always catch me before I'm all the way on the chair.

We have a smaller than Pug sized tree in our apartment, but it comes in a box - so I don't think it's a real tree. My mom says we can't get a real tree because my cat brother will climb all over it. Well I hope you find your tree!!

I have a pug sized tree! Mom bought it for me and I love it. I even get to decorate it. Just don't per on it when you finally get it.

Hi Puglet,
Yup there are Pug sized trees fake ones and real ones. Mom bought our pug sized trees in Michaels. (they look real almost) We have three one for each pug. Look in grocery stores for real pug sized trees.

Our mom won't allow a real leafless tree in our house, something about the first ever tree having bugs that infested the house. Whatever !!! And the cat climbing into it.

We have pug ornaments too we get new ones every year..Lucy the house cat gets cat stuff.

Real leafless or fake just make sure you don't pee on it that wouldn't be a good thing.

We found it at Lowes. I even stopped barking at it, unless my Daddy shakes it....

Hey Puglet, have your Human bring you and Dutch over here to the NJ Pine Barrens. We'll find ya a pug size tree even if we have to canvass the whole lower half of the state. We just have to always be on the look out for that Jersey Devil dude that lives in the barrens b/c he eats pugs and pug fractions. We think Dutch might be safe, tho.

We had a real tree once 500 years ago when we first came to live here, but Riley pee'd on it and Mom had to put it outside. Now we have a very pretty fake leafless tree that has lights on it. We do not understand why it only comes to visit when the weather gets cold and leaves after a bunch of time. oh well, good luck looking for that perfect pug size leafless tree, and don't let anybody tell you that pine cones are good to eat because they're not !!

Not sure if it counts, but they sell pug sized (rosemary) trees. They're potted and they're shaped like the big leafless trees, but they're made of rosemary. (My mom likes rosemary 'cause she says it smells like roast pork. Mmmmmm.... pooork....) Good luck on the tree hunt. I have a feeling we'll be putting up our (fake) leafless tree soon. *sigh*

I can't wait to see your pug tree!
We live in a building so no real trees allowed. My human is still on the fence about going down to storage and dragging up our fake one this year...
I can't pick a favorite photo. Bosco, GB and Mo are too cute to decide on just one!

Hey Noodle,
The rosemary trees are the ones in the grocery stores or Loewes or Home Depot, they even come with a red bow on top.

See Puglet...even Noodle knows about pug sized trees, rosemary trees.

Puglet, Trees do exist in your size. They call them table trees and little old ladies, like me, often have them at this time of year. I'd rather have you than a tree!

dear puglet,

we are not getting a real tree this year due to the fact we have two new additions to our house.. yes, that's right...twin boys!! it is soo much work taking care of them and not to mention on top of guarding the house! We love them but sometimes think it is not fair they get to drink milk and do not get yelled at for stinking up their diapers...but any chance we get we snuggle and curl up with them for a nap.
Good luck with the tree. We have an artificial this year- and momma tries to fool me with burning a tree smelly candle- yeah right!

ps- are you ever tempted to pee on the pug size tree?
