The people at Flax were all supernice. We told them I wanted to learn how to paint, and they told us all about the different kinds of paints and brushes and stuff. I found a huge bag of brushes, picked out some colors and was ready to go home and start making paintings.
There was only one problem: my human is afraid of paint. Not afraid afraid, like of the dark or spiders. But afraid like she's not sure what to do with it so she doesn't want to go near it (technical term: intimidated). Great. How was I supposed to learn to paint if my human couldn't teach me?
Luckily I remembered seeing something on Emmitt's human's website about how she makes paintings. So we went back to the website and saw how paintings are made. I also read that Emmitt's human (Melissa) kinda used to be afraid of paints too, but she overcame the fear and is now a real painter.
So now I have cool new brushes, paints and this thing called inspiration. Paintings coming soon...

Wow Puglet, that store looks way cool. Especially if they love pugs. You are going to paint a masterpiece,I just know it!
Hi Puglet!
Ohh, I wanna paint too! Do you have any tips for non-toxic options? I don't have a muse like yours (Jenny!), but I want to give art a try!
My human says that she has some paints and brushes, but was also intimidated so the paint never made it onto the canvas :(
Can't wait to see what you make.

Pee-S I can eat normal food now, but I still like green beans and..... Collard Greens!
Yeah - Flax was supercool, even if they didn't hand out cookies or anything.
We ended up getting kids paint because it won't hurt me if/when I try to eat it. I don't understand what's with humans and their crazy paint phobia. My human has a whole bunch of paint stuff she's never used. What's so scary about putting paint on a canvas??
I can't wait to make a mess! Uhm, I mean a painting :)
Uh, Tobee ~ what's a collard green??
Hi Puglet! I remember when you mentioned you were going to Flax. It was so long ago I figured that you just didn't go but I'm glad to see you did. Emmitt's mom is so super cool and I bet she could teach you to paint.
Josie and I have firmed up our date for Sunday. I'm so excited but nervous too. Should I bring her a gift or am I gift enough?
Stubby xoxo
Pee-s: I sent you an email about something cool Mom found.
Hey Stubbs!
I thought Miss Gimpy Brain forgot all about it too! But sometimes she surprises me. Now I just have to cure her paint phobia!
I totally can't believe you're going on a date with Josie! I think you are probably enough, but maybe bring a gift just in case?
Something that says "I might love you". Like maybe some bunny poo??
I tried to paint this weekend, but it was NOT the kind I should be using. Mom was painting the bathroom, and I got busted when she noticed my whiskers and chin were "desert haze". Oops. She got mad, but I just gave her my usual "are you talkin' to ME?" look....
I can't wait to see your art.
Gracie the agility pug (Arnie's sister)
Hiya Puglet. Mom and dad went on vacation and I've been at grandma's. She isn't too good on a computer so I've had to catch up since I've been home.
I can't wait to see your paintings...I know they will be beautiful. Make sure you paint the paper and not brother Dutch. I know he might look like a canvas, but he's not...although he could pull off pink. Glad you liked the yak treats and thanks for finding that site.
I know I'd love to have an original Puglet painting in my house! I'd put it right next to the one Emmit's mom did. I'd have a shrine of original Pug art. My human likes that idea too.
Hi Gracie-Arnie's-sister -
Yeah, I thought the Home Depot kind of paint was for painting too. The Flax people straightened me out. Human stuff can be sooo confusing.
Hey Bella-T!
I am FINALLY chewing on my yak thingy. I have been chewing and chewing and chewing nonstop for about 45 minutes. YUMMO. Gotta go. I've got some yak milk to chew.
S.B. -
I love the painting you bought from Emmitt's mom. I don't think mine will be as good as hers, but I will try.
I already know how to hold a paintbrush, but my human says I have to learn how STEER a brush before I'm allowed to go anywhere near paint.
Wah.
I think you're going to be fantastic! I would probably try to eat the paintbrush. i try to eat everything though...dryer sheets, cucumbers, mom's bed, my tail....it's a constant battle over here.
Sounds like you need a Yak chew!!!
