So, I've been doing a lot of learning lately. Between the supermodel video and that one I made for Jenny, I must have learned about a million new things. Picking flowers, buying cookies, and hailing taxis might look easy - but behind every great pug actor is a big bag of Cheetos. And behind every bag of Cheetos is a whole bunch of tubey-ness!

My harness is fitting a little tighter than usual, so I was seriously worried about passing the 25lb test
when we took a surprise trip to PetSmart yesterday. Luckily my human forgot to put my harness on, so I squeaked in at 24.5 lbs wearing just a collar.

Less than 25 lbs = I'm allowed to get a treat. But
my human said I'd gained a little weight, so it had to be a healthy one. I didn't exactly know what "healthy" meant so she told me just to look for the words "low fat". Toobles are low fat, but that's not why I picked them out.

I kinda thought Toobles was just a funny way to spell Tubeless. Y'know, like marketing-speak for 'eat these and be less tubular'.
My human laughed at this theory, but since Toobles are low fat we got to take them home anyway.

I'm not 100% sure what part of what animal a Tooble comes from, and my human is pretty horrified by them, but me and brother Dutch think they're mighty tasty.
Stick a giant carrot in the middle and you've got the healthiest, low fattiest, tubey-less snack on earth.

We LOVE toobles - or Moo Tubes as we have seen around here! They are beef trachea and are high in glucosamine and chondroitin which is good for the joints.

I really want that thing in your mouth, badly! Since my dreaded annual check up is this month, I've been working hard to get rid of my winter pudge. The long walks are great but the lack of tasty stuff in my mouth really sucks.

It's the vet's fault. The lead article on my animal hospital's web page is entitled 'Rising Levels of Obesity in Dogs and Cats'. An American vet named Dr. Ernie Ward did a National Pet Obesity Awareness Day Study and says there has been a 2% rise in fat dogs (34 million in total estimated) and blames treats (party pooper).

He says that a pig ear is, to a 40 lb dog, the caloric equivalent of 72 ounces of soft drinks to an adult human.

Well, my dream of a pig ear has been squashed but now I've got a new one, the Tooble!

Well my mom went on an online shopping spree (she'll blog about it when we get the package) and she got me a ton of treats all are suppose to be low-fat. I like to chew, so she got me treats that are suppose to take a long time to consume. She feels that if I'm going to get a treat, I've got to work for it. I don't mind working for it, but it has to be worth it. So I might have some new treats to report on Puglet. I'm glad you're still under 25lbs. I think you look amazing, and enjoy your treats. You totally work hard for them.

My Man, I am so glad to see you are in full recovery mode from yesterday! That suit was totally bananas(HA!) I mean reallY! I had to peel back my eyes when I saw that get up and do a double take (HA HA). Did I Slip up with other funny... Did Carmen Miranda ever own a Puglet (HA HA HA!!!) Sorry Dude, but I had to go through it last week in my Piggie suit. What did Jenny thinks of you in that? Did you ever run a campaign for Bob Dole? (SNORTS)
Good thing your Momma gave you some snacks today!

Beef Trachea? Who knew!

[note from human: it says 'Beef Trachea' right on the Toobles label]

Toobles really are tasty. My human stuffed a carrot inside and I had to work really hard to get it out. Beefy on the outside, carroty in the middle. It's the perfect snack!

The Toobles don't last nearly as long as the Yak chews. I got thru half a Tooble in one sitting. But I don't think I'm any tubey-er for it.

I'm afraid my harness is a bit tight lately also. I will definitely put the poor pitiful pug face on to get some toobles.

Hi Puglet! Mom says there's no way she's feeding me beef trachea. I think it sounds delicious and I'm all about low fat treats.

I haven't been on the scale since last year and I don't plan on getting it anytime soon. What I don't know can't hurt me. I don't feel tubey so I guess I'm not. Do you think I'm living in denial?

Stubby xoxo

Man Puglet......Grandma & mom dragged me to PetSmart tonight just so they could prop my beefy curl on that darn scale you're boasting about! That box said I weighed 25.8 lbs.....so then grandma & mom argued over who gave me what treats and who was secretly feeding me..pointing the finger at each other...then grandpa got a talking to when we got home. So now, I got some new reduced-hefty treats. I am a tall pug with a large build...what do these humans want from me?!

I'm with you Stubbs - just avoid the scale. If you don't feel tubey, you must not be tubey!

Hey Spencer B ~

25.8 isn't THAT bad. I mean, what were you last time? I think sudden growth-in-heft is what freaks the humans out. I'd take the Stubby approach and avoid the scale of they'll start feeding you carrots.
