WORDS EVERY PUG WANTS TO HEAR

The other day someone at the park said two words every pug wants to hear: looks skinny.

As in "Puglet looks skinny!". As in, Puglet looks like he could use some more food.

Uh huh, you heard me. MORE FOOD.

So when we went to Petsmart yesterday to buy a new snail for Fish, I hopped up on the scale to check the numbers. First the scale said I weigh 24.0 lbs, but then I moved or breathed or something and gained a little weight. That brought me up to 24.2 - still plenty skinny.

Weight loss tip: stay very still when on a scale. Any sudden movement could cause you to gain weight!

It's been awhile since we made a video or did a real photoshoot, so the lack of extra-curricular cookies might explain my skinniness. My human promised we'll be working on something "very cool" and mega doses of cookies will be coming my way soon.

Soon? Uhm, how soon is NOW?

Hey Puglet,

It must be the time of year, because my human shrieked a few days ago "you *DO* have a neck!" She also told me that I'm starting to tuck, whatever that means. She's been playing this mean trick that she thinks I don't know about - when she feeds me she acts like she puts a million kibbles in the bowl but there are only like 10. 10!

Congrats on the tube loss, and I can't wait to see your latest Puglet Production!

Molly in PA

Also, who is Fish? And why don't you let him talk on your blog?

Good for you Puglet..our vet says a healthy pug is a slim pug. Yea right that means healthy treats which does not equal *cookies*. Green beans can only go so far. But, I have to admit on my so called diet I dropped 4 lbs, to a svelt 20 lbs on the button. Now my brother Emmitt is a tall guy and naturally slim, little brother Eli is what mom calls *a bag of bones*. Talk about a skin flint pug, he eats like a pig and we know this because he broke into the pantry last night and devoured about 5 cups of food before mom caught him. He even ate part of the food bag. He weighs 16 lbs the little dork!

Keep up the good work Puglet maybe the Charlie Bear treats are working their 3 calorie magic!!!

Yes, it does make a heart flutter to her those words. I have been getting that a lot lately too. Tell your human that you think you should start working your way up with the extra treats, like now. You wouldn't want to get a bellyache when you start filming from sudden onset of extra treats. Makes sense. No?

'skinny' is a good word for pugs to hear! Of course my dad goes, 'jesus, Pugs, gained much?'whenever he lifts me up, but then my mommy says I'm all muscle since I'm so active.

Hi Puglet,
You are handsomely slim and for that alone you deserve a cookie now and then. I always stand up very straight and "suck it in" when my Mommy is around so she THINKS I am skinny. Then I am guaranteed a treat or two.

You know, I just knew that the words every pug wants to hear eventually ended up with that all important word: FOOD!

You do look pretty buff in the piture! Alas, we are all on a diet in our house (including the human, at least she suffers with us). We tried on our costumes from last Halloween...and they don't quite go around our tubs...of course, they were tight last year!

Working out a lot...jumping up on the couch is pretty strenuous!

Hey Pug I agree you look great! My mom put me on treat restrictions too. I say my body is just confused, boy girl? Tall short? Skinny fat? So for right now just enjoy and sneak a few extra treats.

Check you out skinny stuff!!!! That is awesome! Lola is on a diet at the moment! She's getting a little chubby! So she's not very happy with me, but we did manage to hug our pug quite a bit yesterday on "hug a pug day!"

Hi Puglet

Our names are Dexter and Milton and we have been reading your blog for awhile now. We are usually pretty quiet and just like to look at your pictures (our mom likes to take LOTS of picture of us, she has a Nikon too)

ANYWAY

We have some pug friends who's mom makes custom collars, she can do anything you can think of and has even moved onto harnesses!! Well our mom just bought us these super cute Halloween collars and we have decided that Puglet and Dutch need to see these, they are extra cute, and she will make them in ANY size and color you want, you just have to ask!! Cool huh?!? And the best thing is the price, $10 or less depending on the size!

Well check out her page, she is struggling with finances right now and would love for all the other pugs and other odd neck sized dogs to maybe help her out if they want a cool Halloween or Christmas collar too!!

We look forward to your blog everyday, and my mom keeps saying if we are ever in California (our cousin lives there) that we are FOR SURE getting our pictures take!!

Heya Molly ~

10 freaking kibbles? That's it? No wonder you have a skinny neck. My human tries to pull the float-kibble-in-water trick on me, but I know the deal. I am not fooled.

Maybe the new snail would like to blog, but Fish doesn't say much. This is Fish:

San Antonio pugs -

it would take me exactly 5 days to eat 5 cups of food at the rate my human feeds me. Can I come live in your pantry thing?

Very important to keep your puglet at healthy weight. My puggie was recently diagnosed with diabetes and is on a very strict diet these days.

I tried to explain to puggie that I'm doing this to keep her healthy, but I think she thinks I'm just being stingy with the good snacks.
