So, last Friday I fell off the wagon. I'd been doing pretty good with the whole not-eating-stuff thing ever since my human threatened to make me wear one of those bee hats... but something in side me just said EAT IT, so I did.
What I ate was a bunch of twigs. And by Friday night the twigs hit some part of my insides that doesn't like twigs. It really didn't feel good. I moped around and whined a little and tried to find a comfortable way to sleep but couldn't. So I woke everyone up to keep me company.
My human wasn't happy about being awake in the middle of the night, and she totally wasn't happy it was because I ate something I know I'm not supposed to eat. So she gave me some magic mineral oil and we all went back to sleep.
By morning, the twigs (and everything else I'd eaten) were ready to come out. We drove over the bridge to Pt Isabel, and as soon as we got out of the car the twigs were history. About a minute later, I met a pug named Massimo.
Massimo isn't looking his cutest in today's picture because when I was busy eating twigs, he was busy eating one of him mom's socks. Like me, Massimo is a repeat offender/addict. I think this was his 3rd sock incident.
Luckily the socks Massimo eats are small and have never gotten stuck, but we both still got a big huge lecture about eating things we shouldn't.
I hope you're feeling better Massimo!

I eat toilet paper (confesses Klaus the pug)
Yikes! Socks and twigs! *gulp* I've been known to eat the occasional pair of ear plugs
Have we talked about a 12 step program for this??? Dude, you are really ruining it for us, our human is landscaping our backyard right now, and she is running all over the place to try to figure out boring stuff we can't eat! We thought we had her fooled...we don't eat any of it, but we were just being good to get it in the back yard.
Glad to hear you are ok...and hope Massimo is feeling better...he looked a little sick.

Puglet and Massimo, We were all like totally surprised by the picture of you two because initially we thought you were in Alaska because of all the white stuff. We thought you two were being hitched up for the Ididarod or whatever that thing is where your species pulls a human for miles and miles across the ice and snow. Maybe you and Massimo can start a Pugatrod to have fun with a whole bunch of other harnessed up pugs to get your pug minds off of eating everything. Do you like our idea?
Hiya Puglet!
Massimo looks pissed/scared/confused/*pissed* at being lectured about the socks .. again. I sure hope you might have learned once and for all that our humans (think they) know better than us. Hmph.
I do feel your pain though, you know how you like woodchips? Well this weekend my humans did the best thing *ever* - they put fresh mulch down, and mums. The mums I could care less about, but the mulch? I'm not sure if you've ever tried this stuff, but it is *tassssttttty*. Goes down like butter and comes out like .. .. mulch.
:\
Ouch.
So I got yelled at too, again, this weekend.
Licks,
Molly in PA
Twigs are addicting! I've been trying to stop eating them, but it's really hard. My human told everyone at the dog park about my twig eating and now they ALL watch to make sure I don't pick one up. Apparently, I ate a twig once and it hurt when it came out the other end. I started crying and people were looking at my human as if she was beating me up. She's still a bit peeved about that.
I've also been know to snack on some leaves, but they aren't as tasty.
Good luck with the twigs and hope Massimo is feeling better.
Mookie
Hi Puglet,
I like to lick carpets and fuzz. My Mommys say it makes them wanna gag.
But I LIKES it.
Love Noodles
I don't eat anything weird, but I didi sneak into the 13 year old's room on Sunday while she was having a 'movie marathon' with some friends. i ate half a LARGE bowl of popcorn, and THREE slices of pizza... YUMMY!!!!
I was so full, I couldn't move- I even slept in the living room because I couldn't ealk to the bedroom. Worth it, though.
Lafayette Lola
Hi my name is Bellatrix and I'm an inappropriate eater. I too like twigs and wood chips from the back yard. I like leaves and sticks oh and anything my 'rents throw down their throats. I would like to say that it's been 3 hours since my last attempt to eat a stick from the backyard, but that's only because I'm not home right now to get that stick...but when I get home...I'll fall off the wagon.
Good luck Pug and Massimo. I wish your belly all the best.
Puglet, with all the good noms out there (and there's a lot, trust me!) why the hail are you eating twigs??? Get yourself to a Popeyes! Heeeee!
Like Klaus, I also eat toilet paper. Actually any paper at all. I will eat homework, paper towels, instructions and even books. I get a lot of lectures too.
Furthermore, I have eaten cement...I think we should form a support group.
Muah,
Minnie Moo and sometimes Lincoln too!
Hello our names are Mocha and Latte and we are repeat offenders of eating things we shouldn't!
We eat toilet paper, cat poop at grandmas house, leaves, woodchips, nursing text books (this one makes our mom really really really mad)
Eating things is super fun though... Were pugs! What do you expect??
OMG, you poor little puggie! Glad everything came out ok in the end. lol. Please watch what you eat. You don't want the old vet person to install a zipper!!! Same goes for your friend, too!
I eats sticks, but I make sure they are little, bitty bites.
Drools and licks,
Minnie and sometimes Mack
Pug, you need to talk to Lexie (our 10-month-old pug) about eating twigs. She LOVES eating sticks & rocks and it makes her throw up. Not good. Maybe I'll tell her this story & she'll think twice before she eats another stick!
No more twigs Puglet...not good.
Massimo, no more socks either. I lost my Brittany because he ate socks. When they operated on him his intestines had become perforated, and he was just torn up inside.
clandestine cats are quite clevrr. love their little idiosyncratic rhythms and whatnot
I will try to eat anything I am not supposed to... especially those little toy mice the cats play with! I once ate a piece of gum I found on the ground and my human had a fit. I eat toilet paper and I've gutted every stuffed toy I have, ripped open comforters to get the stuffing and chewed up socks. I guess we just keep our humans on their toes.
Dear Puglet we both are repeat offenders too. I, Tuni, eat poop and my sister Sequoia eats paper/tissue/plastic/chapstick. We hope that your new buddy feels better soon and our Mom is a fan og the magic mineral oil too!!
Hugs
Sequoia and Tuni
I think my human would LOVE if I just ate TP. Or earplugs, nursing textbooks, leaves, carpet fuzz, poop, chapstick. toy mice, mutliple pieces of pizza and popcorn.
I think cement & mulch are definitely on the NO list.
Molly in PA - I'm supposed to tell you there's a kind of mulch that tastes like chocolate and is a supertoxic for dogs. Sorry if that puts the kibosh on your snacking!
Lafayette Lola - I think you should maybe have a pug sleepover next time there's a movie marathon happening at your house :)
Hey... I'm in for that sleepover... pizza and popcorn... mmmmmmm!
Hiya CCs -
Pull a human for miles and miles across the ice and snow? Pugs? Really? I bet there'd be a whole BUNCH of cookies at the end. Hmmmm. Sounds like a good idea to me.
Y'know, I can't really explain what it is about twigs and woodhchips and rocks and things. Today I hoovered up a bunch of sticky chewy seedpod things. They stuck to my teeth like glue. My human caught me trying to flick them off with my tongue and I got in trouble all over again.
I just can't help it!
Hi Puglet. My mom was feeling all smug because all I ever ate (that she knew about)was the occasional soft, orange, chewy earplug. Then when we were at the park Sunday I discovered the attraction of eating old, soft, chewy poo. My mom was disgusted. She still won't let me kiss her...
XOXO Scoutie
You know what is funny? Between me and my sister Kitty, we have eaten almost everything mentioned. Ear plugs are extra tasty. I will even sneak them out of your ear while you are sleeping! We will have to dedicate a post to all of the things we have eaten.
Puglet, maybe you could get some Pepto Pugmol with a dash of pumpkin to sooth your tummy.
Kitty and Coco
I feel like I'm missing out on the earplug thing. And the old, soft, chewy poo. Will have to sniff into that food group. Thanks Scoutie!
Oh dear this is not goods! I ate an orange earplug once and mum freaked. It came outs the next morning when I stopped to poop. It was bright orange! hee hee. Mum is super strict now and watches me like a hawk! Kinda a bit too much I thinks. I have never tried twigs.... hmmm I thinks I might need to try that when mum isn't lookings.
WInston
Mmmm...I love poop (old & new), as well as acorns. Acorns look just like treats, but taste crunchier. They are supposed to be bad for dogs, but I don't really chew, I just swallow. :P
I has never tried twigs! I usually loves to eat toilet paper, lint from the dryer, pieces of the rug, cotton balls, and most of all I love to eat ropes and strings (though that is pretty embarassings when it comes out the other end and my Mom has to...pull it out...)
Loves,
Oliver Pug
Hmmm. I wonder if a non-pug group would be so... hungry?
Rocco the Pug says: Not to enable you or anything, but I have recently discovered acorns. Apparently they are safe and they're all over my backyard, so...
Hi Puglet! It was so nice meeting you on Saturday! I've been MIA due to the sock incident... I also went through the bathroom trash! Guilty as charged! Feeling better, though. Thanks for the mineral oil and pumpkin advice. Helped a LOT!
Hope to see more of you at Point Isabel! I may make a possible cameo at Fort Funston soon too.
Sending Pug Kisses,
Massimo
:)
Hey Massimo!
I was kinda worried about you dude. Glad everything, uh, came out OK. Hope to see you again, when we're both felling 100%.
