HAPPY PUGLET DAY

In the past year, I've learned a lot about special days and how humans celebrate them. Santa. The Easter bunny. Firsts and Fourths. Birthday hats and lobster suits. Because there was so much leaking yesterday, my human decided to make today a special celebration day. She said today we're going to celebrate me.

Happy Puglet Day!
?!

I thought it sounded a little, uh, grandiose for me to tell everyone I have a special day that isn't my birthday. But my human explained that I came to live with her and Dutch in the middle of November last year. It's not grandiose. It's called an anniversary, she said.

She also said Mushu's mom reminded her to do something she should do more often: celebrate those we love.

So to celebrate my first anniversary / Puglet Day, today's pictures are from my very first day with my new family. I was five months old. I loved brother Dutch right away, even though I think it kinda freaked him out a little (top picture). It didn't take him very long to learn to love me back. This is us a few weeks later:

I also loved the beach. I still remember the first time I played in sand and saw the ocean. I didn't want to leave so my human let us stay until the sun went down. This was my first beach sunset:

I think all dogs should have their own anniversary day. Especially because I'm pretty sure a special cookie or something will be part of the celebration. And if you don't know when your anniversary day should be, you can share today with me.

Hi Puglet, Happy Anniversary. I don't know when my birthday is so my human will celebrate it in February, the day I brought so much joy into her life. I'm hoping for some cookies, too.
We're lucky to have such caring humans. Love, cousin Sophie

Oh puglet I love the sewaters! I wear sweaters all the time (and I might just be a little bit cuter than you). I just had my anniversary on the 1st of November. I was almost 5 months when I was adopted. We must be somewhere near the same age.

Here's some proof that I am also cute in a sweater: here.

Puglet your human is right. Sometimes humans forget to appreciate their loved ones. That is one of the GREAT things about us pugs and dogs in general. We appreciate everything all of the time :-) I think that's what humans love about us.

My Gotcha Day is November 26- this year it falls on Thanksgiving! I was supposed to be a Christmas present for Whitney, but my mom couldn't wait. She dressed me up and took me to Whitney's school- I was waiting outside when she got out of class. I was instantly popular! My mom got it all on video.
I know they are thankful for me.. and all the laughs I brought to them over the last 3 years.
Happy Puglet Day to you!

OOOOOh - I like Gotcha Day much better than Puglet Day! I never heard of that before. Cool!

Wondering -- is November a popular Gotcha month? Brother Dutch just reminded us that he came to stay in November too. And now Lola and Momo. Coincidence??

And Momo -

I think you are a bit cuter in your pink sweater. I don't know why ours are pink. Helllo, we are boys. Not that boys can't wear pink, but...

Yay! Happy Puglet Day! You're the best, Puglet! And, a very happy Dutch Day when that comes around too!

I like Gotcha Day. We always celebrated anniversaries as birthdays since we never knew our dogs and cats actual birthdays. I think we'll have to change that to "Gotcha Days!" Thanks Gen and Foo!

Oh Puglet, you made mom's eyes leak with your post. She's right, we should celebrate our loved one's much more often.

We're all feeling a little sad because El Guapo is going to his family in Hawaii in a couple weeks and we're going to miss him!

Thank you! Oh, thank you puglet! Your thoughts & ideas are such a joy to read. We are especially grateful to your human for such a great idea. Our mama has been so leaky for the last 2 days[reading your posts] we thought about getting someone to fix her but we weren't sure who. Then Puglet Day came & fixed her leak. We decided to call it Fuzzy Family day 'cause there is 3 of us & we wanted to include our mama--we love her too. We spent the day together & got to share a cheeseburger(normally we do that on our birthdays), it's been a great day. Thank you!
