HEARTLESS TREE KILLERS

On Saturday we went to visit my weird leafless tree. We packed water and some Miracle Grow and everything.

You have to walk up a giant hill to get to my tree. We buried it away from a main trail so nobody would pee on it. We thought my tree would be happy there. We thought my tree would be safe. We thought it would grow up to be a great big tree that birds could build nests in and stuff.

We thought wrong.

Because when we got to the place my tree was buried, it was gone. Gone! My human was very careful to pick a place we'd be able to find again. We found the place, but my tree wasn't where we left it.
And it wasn't where we left it because some evil tree killer ripped it from the ground and threw it down the giant hill! My human saw it's near-dead yellow body lying in the green grass.

Why would anyone kill a poor defenseless tree??

It made me very sad to see my tree like that. So we brought it home and buried it in a pot out on the deck. We've promised not to pee on it, but I still don't don't know if my tree will survive.

That is awful... makes me so sad - we need more trees! I will be sending tree growing wishes your way and hope your tree hears them and grows big and strong.

So sorry about your leafless tree. That was really very wrong of some human to do. My mom feels very sad for the little tree and hopes it gets the chance to grow up.

Oh no...how could someone be so cruel to your tree?! This is a shameless act of tree terrorism. Don't despair Puglet because leafless trees are hardy and can survive harsh conditions. I'm sending tree healing thoughts your way.

Yeah, I don't know why anyone would want to hurt a little tree. I'm glad to hear they can survive stuff though. Right now it doen't look good...

Puglet,

I bet if you give it some baby cowpie it would do better. Baby cowpie is the best, at least I think so.

Hi Puglet -
We are two Sonoma County pugs, David Bowie and Pixel, that live on the ocean and love being out in nature. There are so many things to sniff and eat! Our mom is a marine ecologist, which means she studies marine plants and animals and their habitats, like the algae you love to eat on the beach. We're sad for your tree, but our mom says that it's not always a good idea for us to introduce species into places where they aren't normally found. We're not sure where you got your tree from, but if there weren't other trees of the same species on the hill where you planted it, it's best to leave the environment alone. Your tree might not have had a big impact on the system, but some introduced species can do really really bad things.
Wow. That was a lot of words. We're exhausted. Back to sleep.

David Bowie and Pixel!

Thanks for all the words :0

My human was kinda worried about the species stuff too. She asked one of the park people if my tree would hurt anything and they said no (they also said it would probably just die, but we choose not to believe them).

I'm really glad your human is taking such good care of nature. Even though I'm happy being a city-pug, life wouldn't be the same without nature.

Puglet-
we had two leafless trees at our houe this year. One was big and the trash men took that one away. The other one was small and came to us already decorated with ornaments and lights. It was in a pot with dirt, and our kitty kept digging in it. We planted the small tree in our front yard and we hope it lives until next Christmas so we can light it up again!
I'm sorry someone mistreated your tree. I'm glad you guys brought it home for a second chance. I hope it lives to see another Christmas.
If you came to Walnut Creek pug Sun, I'm sorry I missed you. Whitney was asked to play a few extra games at her water polo tournament on Sunday. She's a great goalie, and they needed a good shot blocker.

Hi Puglet! What awful news! I can't believe that someone (surely not a pug) would rip a tree out of the ground and toss it down a hill. Aren't there laws against that?

If your tree does not survive on your deck, please take it somewhere to be recycle.

Stubby xoxo

Sad Puglet, we really hope your tree makes it. Some people are just so mean, Mom is upset that they would hurt that poor tree for no reason too. Let us know if it pulls through!

We are very sad to hear about such a disrespectful, heartless act. You can try giving your tree vitamin B. You can get it where you got your Miracle Grow. It helps plants when they go into shock. That & TLC. Your tree is in good paws & hands. You, Dutch & your human have good hearts...just what an abused tree needs.

Oh no! Who would do such a thing? I wonder if a deer was munching on it and accidentally dragged it down the hill? Do you think you could sniff it out? Just a thought.

Heartless!! An outrage! Your poor tree...I hope it pulls through. Mom says to talk to it...she says plants like that. I dunno but it couldn't hurt. Love, Arlo.
