KENTUCKY FRIED CHRISTMAS

I know. It's almost New Years and I'm still talking about Christmas. But this really isn't about Christmas. It's about chicken. And THE best thing we did to celebrate Christmas.

So after the presents, and the cookies, and the snow... came the drive-thru. It was my first drive-thru and I didn't know what to make of it. A box with pictures of food on it yelled at us. My human yelled back at it. This happened a few times. Then a lady reached out of a window and tried to steal money from my human. At least that's what it looked like to us dogs, so we barked real loud to scare away the window lady.

Our plan seemed to work, but it also made my human mad:

GUYS! One more bark and no one gets nuggets!

Nuggets? I didn't know that's what we were doing. We'd been playing in the snow all day and nuggets sounded reeeeeallly good. But when I looked out the window, I didn't see a Popeye's sign. Just a picture of a guy that kinda looked like Santa but with cooler glasses, a better haircut and no goofy hat.

Me: Where are we?
Human: KFC
Me: Is that guy on the sign Santa?
Human: No, that's The Colonel
Me: Oh

No idea who The Colonel is, what he has to do with Christmas, or what he did to Popeye. But we left KFC with a bucket of yummy nuggets. My friends Jack and Vegas were with us so I had to share my nuggets with them. And brother Dutch too. AND The Man.

My human is the only one who didn't want a piece of my nuggets. But shared nuggets are better than no nuggets at all. Especially after playing in the snow all day. And especially on Christmas.

Hi Puglet! I love drive-thrus! Every time I get in the car I think I'm going to visit one. I love McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's and of course Popeyes. The smell hits me as soon as we pull up to the box with pictures on it. OMD! The person behind the window that gives us our food always comments on how cute I am and sometimes gives me a treat.

How did you human take that picture of you? Did she actually go into KFC and take it or did she hand the camera to the person behind the window? However she got it, it's great.

Your expression is priceless, Puglet. It says, "Nothing gets between me and my nuggets!" I've never had KFC though I should because the Colonel lives up here in Canada, too. Your extended noses tell me it has to be something pretty amazing.

You ARE sooo lucky. I don't know about popeye or this colonel but they must have had pugs to make something so yummy you have to squeeze through a tiny window for: Nuggets. I asked my human if we had KFC where we live. She said yes. I want to go so bad. She says we can as soon as my Dad, Yoda gets better. He's still really sick. My Mom, Zoey wants me to let you know that sometimes these drive-thru places have treats for dogs too. We get a cookie each every time we go to the JavaDetour on VanNess by the freeway. It's the best! Good to have you back.

The Colonel's nuggets were GOOD. My human said I don't have to start my diet until January 1st, so I'm trying to eat as much as I can between now and then.

McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's?? I had no idea there were so many places to drive-thru for nuggets. I totally got the wrong human. We never drive-thru anywhere :(

Oh - and I'm sorry if I made anyone spew liquids with today's picture (my human was laughing so hard when she took it, she spewed soda out her nose).

Thing is, I'm the only dog in our pack who doesn't have a snout and I'm always afraid all the food will be gone by the time I get to it. I couldn't risk not getting my share of nuggets!!

Oh Stubbs -

That was our own private drive-thru in the picture. My human (and the nuggets) were in the front seat of The Man's truck and me, Dutch, Jack and Vegas were in the back.

The Man fed us nuggets through the little window. After about the third nugget, I jumped through the window and into the front seat. My human didn't get a picture of that though.

I might not have a snout but I CAN fit through a drive-thru window!

Puglet and Dutch,
That was the best picture ever!! You are a serious nugget lover. My mom is still laughing and to think you jumped right through the window; oh dear, there she goes, laughing again. My mom keeps trying to take good pictures of me, but she says I won't cooperate. My sister, Kizzy is real good for pictures. She's such a show off!
