BOUNCY BOUNCY BOUNCY

So I made a deal with my human about my heftiness: if I move more, she won't feed me less.

I mean, I really don't eat that much. Really. I get 1/2 cup of food for breakfast and 1/2 cup of food for dinner. Brother Dutch eats the
same exact food and he gets FOUR WHOLE CUPS of it! At night, we both get a big carrot. Once a week I get a bull-penis or a Primal bone. I snack on rocks and dustbunnies when my human isn't looking, but don't tell her that.

How much less could a pug possibly eat???

Anyway. Dutch eats everything I do (except for the rocks and dustbunnies) but no one's calling him tubey. My human says it's because I have the [quote]
metabolism of a tree sloth. I don't know what that means, but I don't want her to take away any of my food so I asked Google for help.

Google said what my human probably meant is that my body doesn't need much food to survive. Uhhhh, yes it does! But Google also said the more I move, the more food my body will need. And that's when I came up with a genius idea.

My human has this bouncy thing she used after she had foot surgery and wasn't allowed to go running. She said bouncing is kinda like running, only you don't go anywhere. I asked if bouncing counts as moving and she said yes. So now I bounce. On the bouncy I can move whenever I want, for as long as I want. I'm thinking if I bounce A LOT my human might even start feeding me more.

Hefty Hefty Hefty?
Bouncy Bouncy Bouncy!

Puglet, I hate to tell you this, but 1/2 a cup morning and night isn't a small amount of food. You are actually getting a pretty decent meal. My 35 pound corgis get that same amount and they move alot!

Puglet... I am also a tubey pug trying to find that waist I know is there! I am trying to move more so I get to keep my eats... this Sunday is Pug Meet in Heather Farms in Walnut Creek... hope to run off some heftiness with you there!

Hi Puglet! You definitely look slim and trim to me! I lost a whole pound in two weeks on my new diet food- the vet said that would be like a person losing 10 pounds in 2 weeks! 'Pretty impressive', she said.
Hope you have a lovely weekend!

Hi Puglet, I get that same amount of food, so does my Shih Tzu brother Samson. He is kinda tubey also. He HATES moving too. We went to Pug Saturday in San Jose last weekend and I did a lot of moving. Good luck on the bouncy thing.

Hi Puglet! I only get a 1/2 cup of food a day - 1/4 in the morning and 1/4 at night. I hardly move at all because I'm old. Mom tells me my metabolism is slow but I'm not sure what that means.

That bouncy thing looks cool. I doubt I would get on it because I'm kind of a chicken. Mom always tries to put me on the treadmill and the Wii balance board, but I cry.

Good luck with your movement program!

Pee-s: Mom said I move slower than a sloth!

Our human instituted a "full walk- full scoop, short walk - small scoop" rule for our food, but the other human forgot and kept feeding us with the larger scoop even when we only went on short walks ;) And now we are tubey too.

And it is too cold for walks at all now, so we have resigned ourselves to the small scoop. And occasional stolen food.

I wish we had a nice bouncy! The baby has a bouncy chair, but I don't think it counts as exercise ....

Puglet, you look like a serious athlete on your bouncy thing and you definitely don't look tubey.
With a workout like that, you need an extra snack or two. Try my favourite, I love eating bugs. Beetles, flies, crickets...they make excellent sometimes chewy, sometimes crunchy snacks and I think you'll find them tastier than dust bunnies and rocks.

a cup a day is really a lot? it doesn't feel like it. especially when Dutch gets FOUR TIMES that much and I move as much as he does.

I'm so sorry you get half the cups I do, Stubby. But you get more Popeyes than me so I think you are lucky.

What is this sloth thing our humans keep comparing us to???

Good for you Lola! You'll be not-tubey in no time.

[We might make it to Heather Farms on Sunday so maybe we'll see you and Spencer and the WC gang!!]

Bugs, Ollie? I don't see many bugs where we live. At the beach sometimes there's dead stuff and I eat that. At the park there's just rocks and sticks though. My human gets SOOOOO mad at me about the rock-eating, but I can't help it.

Puglet - Mom told me she met a sloth in Costa Rica years ago. I asked her if it was slow and she said it was faster than me. I'll try to get Mom to post a picture of the sloth, but in the meantime, please ask your friend Google what a sloth is.

It would be so cool to see you on Sunday! Whitney has a water polo tournament, but she only has two games, so we'll totally be there. I think the weather is supposed to be puggy perfect- a little sun, but not too warm.

Capone and I have the perfect aerobic conditionning programme for pugs -- spinning. And there's no need for a stationnary bike. Just hold a kibble bit about a foot above Puglet's nose and watch him spin with excitement. (Capone does.) By the time you give him his treat a minute later he'll have achieved a sgnificant net calorie loss. This is Capone's exercise routine on Montreal winter days when it's just too cold to walk, even with his coat and dogaloshes.

Karen and Capone

ps. Capone only get 1/2 to 2/3 cup of dry food a day.

Puglet, don't feel bad. I only get 1/4 cup 2x a day. Mom tries to make me think there's more by putting broccoli and green beans and stuff in my bowl, blech. My present to her for having to eat that stuff are many smelly farts.

Kisses,
Stella

Stella, Gunther & Betty -

At least you get FOOD added to your food. My human adds water to mine. Yeah. WATER. Says she does it to slow me down. Otherwise I'd suck all my food down in like 2 seconds and then hover by Dutch's bowl, just in case he leaves any crumbs behind.

Spinning, Capone? That sounds kinda cool. Especially if you get to eat that piece of kibble when you're done. I'll have to get my human to try that with me. Lots and lots of times in a row ... but only if I get to eat after each spin.
