Today I am sad because yesterday I found out that my friend Yoda went to sleep.
I'd met Yoda (and sisters Phoebe and Zoey) a bunch of times, but it wasn't until the December Pug Sunday that our humans met and we were finally introduced for real. Y'know, names and everything. We looked for Yoda and Phoebe and Zoey at this weekend's Pug Sunday... but never found them.
Last night when we walked past the flower store near our house, I remembered that when a friend go to sleep, there should be flowers and a moment of silence. And hugs. Lots of hugs for the people (and pugs) who will miss their sleeping friend.
So lots of pug hugs to Yoda's human and pug sisters Phoebe and Zoey. And a moment of silence for Yoda so he can sleep in peace.

Oh Puglet! I'm so sorry to hear that Yoda went to sleep. Was he ill or was it a sudden sleep? Mom and I are not religious, just spiritual. Whenever somepug goes to sleep Mom tells me that a higher power has plans for the pug. I'm not sure what this means but maybe it means that someone was lonely and needed a pug to comfort them.
Stubby xoxo
You are a wise pug, Stubby.
But is there any way we can let the higher power know that there are lots of homeless pugs out there who need humans? Then nobody's pug would have to go to sleep AND needy pugs would get homes.
beautiful post puglet. sorry to hear about yoda! i understand how painful that can be to loose a dog.
the higher power knows all too well the needs of his beautiful creations on earth & it pains him. he wants none to suffer. think of how much we love our dogs. his love is even greater. he even knows how many hairs are on each of his creations.
unfortunately, this side of heaven will have pain & suffering. that higher power made a way for us to get to a place of perfection where He will wipe every tear from our eyes. there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things will have passed away (rev 21:4)
think of the happy pugs and people in that place!
Puglet, I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. I'm sending big hugs to Yoda's family! When my Mushu unexpectedly went to sleep 2 months ago all the good pugs and people here posted some amazing comments full of love and support. I cannot express how much comfort their words brought to me. I hope today's words help Yoda's family at least a little.
Much love,
-Mushu's mom
Pugs may be short in stature but you all have great big hearts. Your post today and everyone's words of compassion are a lovely tribute to Yoda. This kindness will go a long way to soothe the heartache of loss.
Sad days :(
Puglet, Stubby is a wise little pug and you are following in his footsteps. My little pug Autumn went to sleep 6 months ago and I still leak when I think about her. I will smile when I think of Yoda and Mushu and my Autumn. What a great pug party there will be. I hope they have some heavenly baby cowpies to celebrate with. Lots of hugs to Yoda's family and to you and your human.
Phoebe and Kizzy and mom.
Our thoughts are with you and Yoda's family. :(
Thank you to everyone for all the kind words of understanding & support in this very difficult time for Zoey, Phoebe & I. We,especially myself do not feel so alone in our grief. A lot of people do not understand the effect a dog can have on your life & your heart. Yoda came into my life when I was very sick & was the best medicine I ever received. I feel like he saved me. I wish I could have saved him...he got too sick & there was nothing anyone could do.
Thank you to Puglet, Dutch & your human for such a kind tribute to Yoda. I know he is grateful & so am I.
