I know humans (or at least my human) thinks eating poo is nasty. Well, I think lettuce is nasty and my human eats that all the time. And what she totally doesn't understand is there's a lot more too poo than just eating it. The best part about poo the hunt.
OK, maybe not the best part. But almost.
Because poo hunting is kinda like playing fetch. It's fun, not always easy and makes walks waaay more interesting. Poo is sneaky. It can't run away but it can hide. Poo in the wild is camouflaged. It's practically invisible in dirt and grass so you have to track it down by smell and tracking things by smell isn't easy when you have no snout.
Poo also likes to hide in grass and plants so even when you do find some, it's not exactly easy to catch. And by catch I mean eat. Separating poo from plant isn't easy, especially when your human is standing there threatening to kill you. I mean, who wants grass in their poo? Not me.
To make hunting even harder, all poo is not the same. Some is totally eatable, some definitely is not. But you won't know this until you track it down and get a good sniff. Humans (or at least mine) freak out when you even sniff poo, so sometimes you get shouted at for no good reason and that kinda sucks.
I won't freak out any of the humans by saying what's its like when you finally do track down a stash of totally eatable poo. Or how it smells. Or tastes. But I will say it is exciting, a little stinky and usually very VERY tasty. Oh, and fun. At least until your human sees you face down in a plant and threatens to kill you for eating poo.

Pug, I have to thank you from the bottom of my heart for writing this post. Right now, my mom has promised to lavish me with all the treats I can eat as long as I continue to NOT want to eat poo! So thank you for grossing her out. Keep it coming. Who knows what that will get me on Monday! Have a great weekend!
Love,
Payton
Hmmm...I don't know, Puglet. As enticing as you make it seem, I still don't think I want to eat poo. Mostly because humans seem to freak out about poo eating and that means less treats. I'm a pug of simple pleasures and do whatever it takes to ensure the treats do not stop flowing.
However, you do make a point about this double-standard that humans have. I mean, they eat super stinky CHEESE and somehow that is ok. I don't get it, but we need to pick our battles wisely. Have a good weekend!
-Love,
Sid.
My puggies say it's not worth the mouth washing that comes with the whole poo experience! :0(

How about rabbit poo? Ever hunt for it? It's the best. Especially in the early morning when it's real fresh from the night before. We race all the way down the back of the yard and follow the bunny paths that lead right to the poo area. It's all over. It's fantistic! We're convinced they leave it there for us. We love those bunnies!
Don't believe anybody who tells you that "you are what you eat".
Oh and Puglet, they say everything is bigger in Texas ..... just imagine the possibilities!

Dear Puglet, how do you eat poo, I think it is nasty and won't even sniff it, I walk as far around it as possible to make sure it never touches me or comes in contact with my paws, nose or body. My brother is the same way. I can understand why your hu-mom gets mad at you.
Love Puggsie (and Riley too)
I know this will probably gross your human out, but maybe she should start you in tracking if its the hunt that you like so much? You use your nose to track a scent (once you get started they often use blood-ew!) and find the reward (maybe something grosser). Anyway, might be better than feeding a poo habit.
Beulah also is on the poo hunt, but although she only eats the very best in poo, she is happy to roll in the substandard stuff. There is a lot of yelling and threats on our off-leash walks.
Puglet, at least now we understand why you like poo so much. Thanks for helping us understand, even though we still think it's nasty.
Hi Puglet,
My Mommy yells SO LOUD if I even GLANCE at the cat box (loaded with poo, BTW). I don't eat it and am not sure I ever have, but I do love to TEASE my humans into thinking that I am on my way to the cat box for a SNACK.
Love Noodles
Puglet
i love to eat poo as well. in my area it is mostly cat poo and my own poo, of course. It contains small pieces of carrots and green beans - the best, although it grosses mom out.
Pug, are you flying down to Florida? I'd love to meet you! I got a spot for the wynwood shooting :-)
Awesome job Puglet! My human was eating her breakfast and decided to read your post today. Now *I* am eating her breakfast because she says "It just doesn't seem appetizing anymore". Thanks pal!
We don't think you intended this Pug, but now every time we're out for a stroll and we see a pile of poo, we think of you.

Dude, you are sooooo not allowed to kiss my mom ever again!!! YUCK!
I know you're mom feeds you, what with all that back fat you have, so you have to stop going after to poo. Have you seen pictures of Scarlet? She's super hot, and now she thinks of You when she sees Poo...get the connection? That's not good. You're going to loose your reputation as the ladies man, all for poo.
I don't know why you want to eat poo when there is glorious back fat to be had. Dude...seriously?!?
hey Puglet I see you have a new dog tag 1000 pugs. Can't wait til we get ours.
Tell your Mom to put more fat into your diet.... or give you some bloody red meat or roasted chicken. My Pug use to eat poo too...cat poo..but when I started feeding him a raw diet or giving him cooked meat.. it totally stopped. Those foods you would totally like much better than Poo.
Seriously???
I still love you,....poo eater!
Sammy
Well, to each his own I guess. I mentioned this before, but I like to throw frozen poo in the air! (It's cold in Maine!) Your technique though and enthusiasm can't be denied. We have a kitty that lives here, but her kitty box is in the basement and I don't go down there. You sure know a lot about hunting!
Now ya got me wanting to go on a Poo Hunt!
Puglet, come to Australia and try possum poo. They are yummy.
I love poo too! And you are right, not all poo is acceptable. When I was a wee pug I was not so discriminating. Now I am. I am also surprised I am still with all 4 paws as my person says she'll tear off my legs and beat me with the bloody ends of them if she catches me! And then there's the mouth and face wash... so while discriminating I am also become discreet. It helps we live in the (almost) country, cat poo, fox poo, bear poo.....
Always ~ Spencer Woo
(uhoh, how do I change her name to mine??)
(shh, I figured it out:)
Puglet I feel your pain. Daisy used to eat poo. I went to the vet and learned that it usually means something is lacking in her diet. Red meat, in almost any form, cooked, canned, raw. It made a big difference when I started giving her frozen bones from the meat processors. Just local meat, not one of those big commercial places. The frozen bone stays outside until it is clean enough to come inside. Then it is a playtoy for a very long time. Helps with her teeth too!!
I love you and your long sufferning human!!
Love Daisy
Pug, how come your human never mentioned all the sicknesses that poo can carry? You could get worms or worse. That's enough to warn me off. Now, dead, crunchy bugs---THAT's a treat! (well, we won't talk about the very $$$$$$$$$$$ time I had to go to the dog doc last time I pugged them down).
Not a huge fan of poo, but my brother Wallace and I sometimes hunt for "almond roca" that the cats leave for us in the backyard...
