REDEMPTION!

So, like a year ago I had this incident with a homeless man and a sandwich. I won't go into all the gory details, but the dude had a sandwich and I ate it.

Yeah, I know. But I really didn't mean to eat a homeless person's food. That would be so wrong. The sandwich was just sitting on the sidewalk so I figured it was a stray. Nothing wrong with eating a stray sandwich, right?

Wrong. I got in serious trouble *and* my human
said I'd go to Hell for eating a homeless dude's food. Especially since she didn't have any money with her to buy him a new sandwich. But that's where the redemption thing comes in.

Because yesterday she was taking pictures of Gracie in the alley where I met the homeless dude & his food.... and she saw the dude! My human's brain is completely gimpy, but she says even she 'couldn't forget the face of the homeless man whose food I ate'.

[I swear, it was an accident]

Of course she didn't have her wallet (again!) but she did have $5 in her pocket and gave it to the man to buy a new sandwich. He probably doesn't remember me or the sandwich I ate, but my human said the $5 made him SO happy.
I hope this means I'm not going to Hell anymore.

There's a party happening this weekend and it's just for pugs! Well, humans can come too, but it's mostly for us. And to raise money for Central Coast Pug Rescue. Last year's event was superfun: no leashes, plates of tasty eatables to steal from, and lots of cool pugs.

WHERE: Axis Cafe in San Francisco
WHEN: Sunday Feb 12th, 3 - 6pm
HOW: you can find tickets & all the info on Central Coast Pug Rescue's website www.helppugs.com

Hope to see you there!

Puglet, I totally remember when you ate that guy's sandwich because my mommy bawled her eyes out for days over it (and still tears up thinking about it). I can't believe your human found him after so long! And I'm so happy she was able to buy you a ticket out of hell (although, you do so much good that I doubt one little sandwich would have sent you there...).

Pug, don't feel bad. I bet anyone of us would have scarfed down that sandwich too. Heck some of us might have even tried to snag it out of his hand. But it was great that your human saw him again and had money so he could buy a replacement. Better late than never! Puglet, all that is well and good but frankly I'm not sure how any of that compares to how ridiculously cute the picture of Gracie is. Oh my pug!! Seriously cute! Hope you have been a gentlepug to her. I bet you enjoyed her visit!
Love,
Payton

Oh silly Pug, all dogs go to heaven because dog spelled backwards is God! Giving $5 to that still homeless guy sure was a nice thing your human lady did. Our hu-mom said she is inspired to do something nice for someone now. Hello ..... go buy us some treats!

WOW!! What a story Puglet. I doubt that you would've gone to hell, I mean you would have to do something way worse than eating that sandwich and you didn't mean to be mean by eating it, I mean, that is just what us dogs do, EAT! But, so glad you saw him again and gimpy brain was able to help him out. That was truly a good feeling if there ever was one! Man, I feel so good I think I'm gonna have to do some tricks to get me a treat! Maybe I'll get a sandwich!!!

Hey Puglet, I too remember the nugget snatching incident and remember just how bad you felt when you realized just how much that sidewalk man most likely needed that food.
I think it's absolutely incredible that your human found him again and was able to give him something to make up for your mistake. I know it made her feel much better too.

Sabrina

Puglet,
We are sure you will go to heaven with your human because she is an angel on Earth and she only raises angels too!
Kudo's to her for remembering the man. We remember this incident...our human would have been upset with us too!

Dude...not even I would eat a homeless persons sandwich! I'm glad your mom located him and was able to hook him up with cash, and I hope that it comes out of your treat money!!
Total redemption on your part because the part on Sunday will help homeless pugs right? And with your star power it will sell out, if that's even possible.
I know I'm dragging mom there because I plan on eating all the treats and your back fat. See ya then sucka!

Oh Puglet, what a great story! I'm happy that your human saw the man again. I'm sure the money made his day, too! I read the older blog and felt sad, I'm glad for part 2. I don't think you would have gone to Hell. It wasn't a deliberate theft after all. Your human is very kind.

I wish I didn't live in Maine. First, it's cold, second I want to run free in a cafe and third I wish I could meet you, Puglet. Hope you all have fun!

Puglet, I do not think that you will go to hell because you ate that sandwich. Two reasons:
1. You did not know it belonged to the homeless man
2. You are a pug.

Greetings from Texas and Mr. Dimples, Oscar, Daisy and Chloe. I read them your stories and they love them.

I must say your human is a nice person. She remembered this dude !! Pug.... don't steal other people's food... hee hee.
Gracie is a cutie.... were you ok with her visit? Having a diva at home is little different from having male diva (Dutch), huh?

Let us hear about your opinion on Gracie's visit.

Hi Puglet,
We remember you telling us you ate the homeless mans sandwich. It was sort of funny but sad in a way. Glad your human had the $5 to buy him another one.

There is no excuse for eating a homeless mans sandwich, cept for the fact you are a pug and pugs pretty much eat just about anything.

You have us laughing all the way to our food bowls.

I'm glad your Mommy found him and gave him some money. I read the other post and have to tell you I may be the one in danger of going to hell now because I laughed like a fool at you stealing that sandwich.

I totally agree with Anonymous, and totally believe in Redemption! What a great story!

The benefit looks like fun and we'd love to bring our snotty little one, but at $40 per person it's kind of prohibitive. :-(

Well, that's good that you'll go to heaven now. I'll bet he really didn't mind in the first place, but it was really great that your mom was able to redeem you.

I thought, though, that you only ate poo!

So happy you were able to redeem your sandwich eating incident. I remember that and felt really bad for the homeless guy. This will bring you good karma for sure!

Just signed up for our tickets to Alexis Cafe - me, mom, and g-parents! See you there! I'll be expectin' some treats!

Great you had redemption...and what a nice to dog to be sharing your blog with Gracie...she's a cutie pie!

HI everybody!

I'm soooo glad we can all laugh at the Nugget incident. I mean, now that I'm not going to Hell anymore it was kinda funny.

OK, maybe not for the nice homeless man. But... well... anyway. He obviously didn't starve to death or anything and Gracie said he was supernice to her so it's not like he decided to hate pugs or anything because I ate his sandwich.

THE PUGLET said...

Hey Frodo -

21.9lbs!?! Whoa. Tell you human to start feeding you ASAP or there won't be any of you left when we visit NJ in the fall ;)

THE PUGLET said...

Heya Eddie ~

Cool! I think we need a plan. How bout you stand there and look cute to distract the humans, and I'll grab all the food off their plates!

Of course I'll totally share. Maybe not 50/50 because you stand there and look cute no matter what and I'll probably get yelled at for food snatching. But it will totally be worth it - promise!

Hiya Sammy & Neko!

Oh, don't worry. I'll do a full recap about Gracie's visit. Right now I'm trying to forget all the things about her I don't like so I only say good things. Might take a day or two...
