So, last year The Man brought us a little box of little cakes to celebrate my human's special day. One of the cakes even had bacon in it, just for me. I was kinda hoping that would happen again this year, but I haven't seen The Man in like forever so I didn't think it would happen... until Dutch pointed out that other people can buy cakes too.Uhm, since when is Dutch so smart??
Anyway. I asked my human if she could please get me a little cake so I could celebrate her big day. I really wanted another bacon one, but told her any flavor would be OK. She didn't say yes, but she didn't exactly say no either. When I woke up this morning, there was a cake waiting for me.
Well, sort of. Because yesterday was Love Day or whatever and I guess people want to eat red things on Love Day, there weren't any bacon cakes at the store. And because my human is clueless about cakes, she didn't know that Red Velvet cakes are made of chocolate. Even though Red Velvet is red and chocolate is brown.Yeah, I know. Kinda confused me too. And since chocolate is bad for dogs, my human said I could only eat the white part of my cake. Uhm, hello! 99% of my cake was red. What kind of celebration would that be??
100% HAPPY SPECIAL DAY!So I told my human I love her waaaay too much to only celebrate with the white part. And then snarfed down 100% of my cake before she could stop me.

I think it is totally appropriate that you got 100% of what looked like a really small cake. You'd have to eat almost your body weight in chocolate cupcakes for it to be REALLY bad for you. A little diarrhea's a small price to pay for such YUMMINESS!

Puglet, from all these comments, I see it's your mommy's birthday. I don't know your mommy but from what I've read, she's a good person who works hard. As a newer fan of the Daily Puglet, I would still like to wish her a Happy Birthday.
On a side note, my mommy had a Boston Terrier from years ago who used to eat cholcolate. She stole it, since my human knows you can't feed a dog chocolate. Once she ripped apart all the Christmas gifts for a small peice of cake. Fortunately, she never got sick, but she did break out in hives. You mentioning the cake made me think of this, and allthough the Boston passed away a looong time ago, I hope you don't mind me sharing. Puglet, you brought back great memories! Enjoy that cake!

Yesterday Chili and I got to eat the whipped cream off a piece of cheesecake that our mom human got for our dad human for human heart day(actually it was really for her, but don't tell because no one is supposed to know that)... Human treats are yummy!

My uncle Schmedley ate one of those huge Hershey kisses once and he didn't even get sick. His vet said it was toxic at one ounce per pound of pug. (he was a BIG pug at 30 lbs!) So don't be scared of the tiny amount in red velvet. I'd eat them every minute if my mom would let me! She only gives me green bean treats like your blind dog friend. I woulda never waited for Nikon with a cupcake in front of me. You have willpower like I will never have! Anyway, hope your human's birthday was awesome and you were good to her! Love from Atlanta!

Your human has her special day on Valentine's Day? Wow! That is cool! I thought when you were writing this post you were only referring to V-Day, but after reading what everyone else wrote I guess it was her birthday yesterday too. I got a taste of goodies yesterday cuz of it being Love Day but if I would've known it was your human's B-day I would've blown out a candle for her! Hope she had a great day!
Gus and I (Jazz) wish Amanda a very happy day-on-which-you-emerged-from-your-mommy! I just had a Happy 9-Bone day like that on Saturday. Guardian said I'm an "Aquarian" like you. I thought I was a pug, but maybe I can be both? She copied this good thing about us: Aquarians are known for their wits, cleverness, and originality. Red Velvet isn't chocolate, it's just pound cake with red dye. You were cheated out of a cake, Puglet! However, my old Pug, Duke, was allergic to red dye, so it's probably for the best you didn't eat it. You should make your human take you to Devil's Teeth Bakery, they have free dog treats and it's right be the beach!
