BIRTHDAY BLOODWORK?

I've been so worried/obsessed about the Top Secret Stuff, I almost totally forgot that Dutch turns 8 on Saturday. The only reason I remembered is I overheard my human talking to the vet this morning about getting Dutch bloodwork or something for his birthday.

Birthday bloodwork? Seriously? I don't know about you, but I think a trip to the vet has to be the worst birthday present ever. I tried explaining this to my human, but she told me to shut up before I ruined the surprise. Yeah, because surprise birthday bloodwork is even better!?!

Poor Dutch. Even though I kinda make fun of him sometimes, Dutch is my bro and I totally love him. Turning 8 is also kind of a big deal, so I think some serious specialness needs to happen.

Luckily I just got an email reminding us about a very cool 'Road Trip' raffle for Pacific Pug Rescue (yeah, that's me on the flyer). My human stayed at one of the hotels on the flyer when she was in Seattle cheating on us and I remember her saying it was awesome.

I think Dutch would love to take a road trip that didn't involve a tent, so I bought him a raffle ticket. Hopefully we'll celebrate Dutch's Big 8 with a trip to Washington. But even if we don't win, pugs-in-need will and I know that will make Dutch superhappy.

If you want to buy a raffle ticket, it's not too late! You don't have to live in Washington or give it to Dutch for his birthday. The raffle closes at Midnight (pacific time) on Dutch's birthday (Saturday, September 17th). You can read all about the Road Trip raffle & Pacific Pug Rescue on their website, www.pacificpugrescue.org.

TODAY IS INTERNATIONALLY SPECIAL!
Happy Whelp Day to Riley in Tonronto :)

Surprise bloodwork? Really? I love going to the vet cause they make me feel better and give me tons of treats, but I'm not sure I'd want to be poked with a needle as a surprise for my birthday. Poor Dutch has just got to win that cool trip! I bet he'll even want to take you with him, Pug!
Love,
Payton

Poor Dutch! I think your human is off her rocker. Going to the vet is NO WAY to celebrate a Birthday! However, it's good that you're looking out for him, Pug. That was really nice of you to get him a raffle ticket - I hope you guys win! Roadtrips are the best! -Love, Sid.

Yeah, I have no idea what she's thinking. I know her brain has been suuuupergimpy lately - but not *this* gimpy. I mean, what kind of surprise is getting poked by a needle???

I want to get Dutch some special eatables too. Y'know, in case he doesn't win the road trip. Any suggestions??

ROADTRIP! Love them and would really like to go to Seattle. I think that would be a great present for Dutch...not some stupid bloodwork! Really? I mean really...that is so not happening on his birthday and if it is...well, he better get lots of cookies!! You're a great bro to him Pug...always looking out for him regardless...gotta love it!

Special eatables are a must for a birthday celebration! Mango is one of my favs and good for you, so you may want to try that before they aren't in the stores any more (for winter). Or how about taking a trip to your local dog store and letting him pick out a special treat from the case and a bone from the baskets. That sounds like a pretty good day (and kinda a road trip).
Love,
Payton

Hi Maggie ~

I know! My paws are crossed we win the raffle. I could even maybe meet Jenny the Pug if that happens. She lives in Washignton you know.

Good idea Payton. Of course he'll probably pick out something super embarrassing like a pink poodle. But I guess it's his big day...

Puglet - what if WE want to send Dutch some eatables for his birfday?

Bo in Sacramento says:

Whoa - bloodwork for Dutch's birtday? That doesn't sound like much fun at all.

I remember one time when mom took me to the vet for special bloodwork. We were going on a special trip to Oklahoma to see my human grandparents. The airline made mom get me all checked out by the vet before they would let me ride in the plane. That was some trip!!

Mom says all the clues are starting to lead her to believe you may be going somewhere special - by airplane. But Puglet, you would have to get checked out by the vet too, unless you have already been checked out fairly recently???? I can't imagine your mom would be taking Dutch someplace that special and leave you behind. That would just not be fair at all!

It would be pawsome if you guys win that roadtrip, so you could meet Jenny. That would be the best surprise in the whole world for you!

So, my mom wants to know how much longer your mom is going to keep all of us in suspense; when do we get to find out what all the top secret stuff is?

We hope Dutch has a super birthday. I like the idea of taking him to PetSmart or some place similar and letting him pick something special. You are such a good brother, Puglet. Dutch is lucky to have you.

I asked mom if I could have a special treat in honor of Ducth's birthday and she said yes. Pawsome!! Happy Birthday Dutch!

We can't wait for the next clue to the mystery!

I just checked the flyer and it says the raffle closes September 11, which was last Sunday. Am I missing something here?

THE PUGLET said...

Hi Sue & Romeo~

You're right about the date on the flyer -- I guess the raffle has been extended since they made it because it doesn't really end until midnight on Dutch's birthday. Sorry to confuse! All the details are here >

Oooh Bella T you should totally enter! Perhaps mention a little something about not getting to visit the happiest place on earth. Or whatever they call that place your mom visited but didn't take you to.

Hi Barbara ~

I'm sure Dutch would love any birthday eatables you (and anyone else) would like to give him. I'm not allowed to give our house address to the whole entire internet, but you can email me to get it > dailypuglet-at-gmail.com

Hi Puglet,
Hey its Dutch's big day and if he wants something well pink and if it makes him happy let him be pink for the day.

The day after his birthday you can pick on him.

But seriously bloodwork on your birthday, your human better have a big batch of eatables ready for him when he gets home.

3E's and yes Ellie's cast #3 is pink how did you guess?

Emmitt and Eli... Ellie is sleeping and we didn't want to wake her up.

Jasper and Megan again...just saw the above email. I think that will work. Happy Birthday, Dutch!

Hi Puglet,
I bought a raffle ticket for Dutch, too!

By the way, I go every year to the vet right before my birthday and not only for blood work but I get that awful anal bum squeeze thing done, as well.

Happy 8th Birthday Dutch! I'm wishing you something really glitzy and awesomely pink for your special day.

I forgot! Happy birthday to Riley right here in my own hometown.

Thank you Puglet for helping Pacific Pug Rescue with our big raffle. The deadline has been extended to September 17 at midnight so it is not too late for all your friends to buy tickets. Every dollar raised goes to the medical care of the pugs in our program!

THE PUGLET said...

2 of 3 E's ~

I guess you're right. I'll wait until Dutch is 8 years + 1 day old before picking on him about his love of pink.

THE PUGLET said...

Hi Rocco in Austin!

Happy late 8 to you. I hope you didn't get a trip to the vet on your birthday :)

THE PUGLET said...

Jasper and Megan ~

That's so superawesome of you! Dutch doesn't have email - my human says she doesn't have enough thumbs. You can just use mine -- but I think you figured that out!

Hugs + SPAM :)

Sadly, it has been confirmed that we are not leaving the country any time soon. Unless we turn another governor from Texas into a President, then we might. But please don't tell anyone I said that. I'm not allowed to talk about politics, religion or that sex stuff on here.

THE PUGLET said...

Hi Scoutie ~

If we -- I mean Dutch -- wins a roadtrip can I come meet you??

THE PUGLET said...

Hiya Ollie!

Whoa. That sucks about the birthday bum squeeze! Getting his anals juiced is Dutch's #1 most hated thing in the whole entire world. He freaks out if you even *look* at his butt the wrong way. I really hope he gets away with just the bloodwork part.

AND thanks so much for supporting Pug Rescue in Dutch's name. I can't wait to tell him - he's going to feel so special!
