FOR EVERYONE WHO RAN THE WRONG WAY

I'm kind of a little tired today from the weekend. First we were crazy busy with more top secret stuff, then last night me & my human stayed up late to watch 9/11 on the History channel. Neither one of us had seen much TV from that day and it was very very VERY sad. Heartbreaking, my human says.

The whole thing was so supersad, but one thing that made me really supersad was seeing all the firemen running INTO the towers when everyone else was running OUT of them. I didn't understand why anyone would run into a burning building until my human explained they did it to save lives. Because that's what firemen do.

So for my good deed I've decided to Not-Forget all the people who ran the wrong way. There's now a section dedicated to Not-Forgetting
at the bottom of the sidebar thingy over there ->->->
Each day, I'm going to Not-Forget one of the firefighters who died on 9/11 by listing their name.

I know this isn't a big huge thing and it won't bring anyone back, but it will help all of us here & out there on the internet Not-Forget what happened that day.

I hope I'm not making everyone sad. Tomorrow I'll tell you about the rest of my weekend - here's a preview:

* * *

YESTERDAY WAS SPECIAL... A big fat international Happy Whelp Day goes out to Fred the pug in Rio. Y'know, the one all the way over in Brazil?? Yeah. That one. I asked my human to get me some exotic cookies to celebrate.

AND SO IS TODAY!
Another Special Day shout out goes to Gracie in South Glensfalls, NY. I'll eat some exotic cookies for you too, Gracie. Because New York is really far away too :)

Thank you for not forgetting fireman. My mom's brother is a fireman, and he runs IN when sane people run OUT. Mom is so proud of him and her other brother (who's a police officer).

They are true heroes.

You are such a great pug, Pug! That is a great way to not forget. There were so many heroes that day. Can't wait to hear about your mission!

Happy birthdays to Fred and Gracie!! I love multiple cookie days!

Hi Gracie ~

At first I was *really* confused about why so many people were running the wrong way. I thought they were crazy, now I know they were just very brave.

We're having trouble finding a list of other 9/11 emergency people to Not-Forget, but if we can find out who the police and ambulance and others were, they will totally be Not-Forgotten too.

This is such a great way to not forget... It is important to remember their sacrifice all the days of the year, not just on one day…. I already heart your blog, but this makes it even more warm and fuzzy…

It's me again...the post changed after I made my first comment. The video was so cute! Now I really, really can't wait to hear about your weekend tomorrow!

That face wrestling looks like fun, Puglet. I bet you guys took a nice long nap after all that muzzle mashing. And thank you for remembering all the firemen from 9/11 that risked or gave up their lives to help others. Looking forward to hearing about your weekend! -Love, Sid.

First off, awesome work Pug! My dad is a first responder, and he does dangerous stuff all the time! So thanks for keeping their memories alive.
Nice jowling with Frank. I love the stare down and the back fat grab. I personally enjoy grabbing tails, but back fat will do too!

Great idea, the never forgetting part.

That was some awesome wrestling, although I think someone was cheating.

Love that you are such a sensitive and caring Pug! Did you know that there were lots of dog heroes too? http://www.themama-monster.com/2011/09/check-out-some-of-these-amazing-heroes.html

Frank was totally cheating!!! Humping is not allowed in face wrestling matches!

Thanks mama monster! We didn't forget about the fog heroes, promise. Just didn't want to cause too much leaking at once.

I think Not Forgetting is a super sweet idea. My human was sad all day yesterday too. 10 years later and she's still shocked when watching the TV specials on it. We think it's great to remember, and honor the fallen ones.

There's no humpage in face wrestling! :-) Can't wait to hear about the rest of your weekend Puglet!

Puglet,
Please don't not forget the one K-9 who went the wrong way that day, he is Sirius and he was with the Port Authority Police Department. If your humom wants more information on him let me know.

We love your not forgetting idea. We have a lot of first responder family & friends; we always get worried when there is any kind of crisis in their areas. They are always close to our heart & knowing they are out there ready to keep us safe makes life a little easier. Thank you to all those who run the wrong way.
The face wrestling was great. We ready for the rematch. It seems like even Dutch was entertained from afar on his bed. We think that a lap is a great place for a wrestling match & humpfest. It is our preferred wrestling spot much to our humans dismay.
Can't wait for more details on the secret mission.

We can never say or do enough for those that run the wrong way because it takes a very special kind of human (& dog like Sirius) to risk their lives in order to save others. Way to go, Puglet!
Happy belated special day to Fred in Rio and Gracie.
And I hope Fred from Poznan is feeling better today from his micro stroke and gets a macro cookie for recovery.

Hi Puglet,

Thanks for remembering all the fireman who ran the wrong way in an effort to save others on 9-11. My friend's cousin was one of the first ones to arrive at the WTC that day. He ran the wrong way and never came out. Months later his body was recovered with evidence that he was trying to save some people. He was just shy of his 30th birthday. He and ALL the people who lost their lives that day are HEROES and will NEVER be forgotten.

BTW I LOVED the video. I get super excited when ever you post one. Gracie and I face wrestle like that ALL the time. We both do the cheating humping thing too......just can't help ourselves.....

Happy Welp Day to Fred and a VERY special Happy Birthday to MY BEST friend/cousin Gracie Lou!!!!! We went to her house for dinner last night to celebrate. My human brought her a new toy that she LOVED. She also got us each a VERY special frosted treat to celebrate. It was YUMMY!!!! Thanks to everyone who wished her a Happy Birthday. I'll let her human know.

Wow, I just heard mom make a funny noise and then her face started leaking. I think she is overwhelmed about your wording... Not-forgetting the ones who ran the wrong way. Very appropriate.

Very touching post about the ones who ran the wrong way.

At our house, the humans call pug face wrestling Sumo Mouth!

RottiWeiller thanks you for reminding him not to forget.

Very touching tribute for all the fireman, I thank you. It's a day we all should never forget. I personally didn't know anyone who died, but 8 people from my town did. Our local paper had little blurbs written by some of the family members who lost someone from Monmouth/Ocean counties in Sunday's paper, heartbreaking, is all I can say.

Oh Puglet, Weezer and I really love your idea of Not-Forgetting. Thank you for that. We didn't watch TV at all on Sunday (well, besides a few innings of baseball) only because the events are still so close to us. It's still so painful to think about and remember. But at the same time I don't ever want to forget either. Thank you for Not-Forgetting.

I loved your video, but the face-wrestling inadvertently turned into a hump session. BOL!

Thank you for keeping the memory of the heroes of 9/11 alive!
