Even though I'm pretty much OK with the 1000 Pugs situation (except for the airplane thing) my human said I ought practice being the #1/1000 Official Spokespug.

I really wasn't sure what she thought I needed to practice.
I mean, I already had The Epiphany. I totally get why 1000 Pugs is cool. And as long as none of the other 999 pugs tries to steal my #1 spot, I'm fine with whatever (except the airplane thing).
But practice sounded like something I might get cookies for doing, so I went along with it.

Well, next thing you know she loads me in the pod (without Dutch) and we head over to the Bishop Ranch vet place. Cookies or no cookies, I definitely did NOT want to practice anything at a vet.

Luckily we were only there to pick up Emi. I guess her eyeball exploded on Pug Rescue Lady's leg or something so the eye-removal surgery had to happen asap. I was still confused about the whole practice thing, but it was good to see Emi again. She is SO much happier and cuter without the creepy eye.

It didn't take long to figure out what I was supposed to practice once we got to our next stop: Pug Saturday in San Jose. My human explained that if I want to be the 1000 Pugs #1 Spokespug, I have to embrace the idea of her and Nikon and my cookies spending time with other pugs. I asked if there would be enough cookies for me too and she said yes.

Then she stuck me on a bench next to my buddy Eddie and started taking pictures.

Now, you have to understand that Eddie is even cuter than Frank. He always wears these cute neck outfits AND he head tilts. So of course my human was all gaga over him even though I was sitting right there. But I tried to practice being good and I totally did kinda ok. Until my human broke out the salmon Omegas.

That's when I kinda went mini-poodle on Eddie. He's my friend so I wasn't really trying to poodle him, but it was totally impossible to just sit there and watch him head tilt at Nikon and make my human go awwww AND eat my Omegas all at the same time.
I guess my human was right. I do need to practice more.

Sorry Eddie. But next time maybe skip the insanely cute head tilt thing?

PS: thanks for being nice to Dutch. I'm supposed to tell you he feels less Jan-y now, whatever that means.

Great news for a dreary Monday morning! Thanks Pug! Emi looks fantastic. I hope this means she can start being a PUG now! Poor thing's been through so much....

My mom says that Eddie sure is cute, but she insists that all pugs have a unique "cuteness." I do the head tilt and the tongue thing, my sister does the Bella-esque superorbs.... it's all relative. You just keep on bein' you and you'll always be #1!!

Awwwww. This is the best way to start brand new week. Practice, Practice, Practice.

You are my number one star!!

Yeah for Emi! And yeah that you got to have fun this weekend at a Pug Sunday! Those always sound like quite the party. Pug, you will have to practice not going Poodle on the other pugs or else the tour bus/Prius idea will not happen for sure! Just remember that you'll always be #1 in all of our books, but especially your human's. I haven't done the head tilt in a while since my hearing isn't all that great, but you have got to check out my "jimmy". Yep, I've been practicing too for the 1000 Pugs thing. If you have time, check out my blog post from today and let me know what you think.

The daily puglet came early today! What a treat! Pug you are doing a good job at practicing. I had to learn to share my toys, my sofa and my human when my rescue brother Buddy came to live with us. I still get the same amount of treats even though Buddy is here, so I guess it is ok. Anyway, my human wants me to plug D.C. and Mid Atlantic Pug Rescue so you will make it a stop on the tour. Think you can drop some subtle hints with your human? We have tons of pugs out here who would love to jimmy and supermodel for Nikon!

that last comment was from us...B&B...we got so excited talking about 1000 pugs we forgot to sign off!

Hi Pug, nice to read you again ;) Hope Dutch feels better, and I also hope Emi feels better. What do you mean her eyeball exploded on Pug Rescue Lady's leg??? like literally exploded??? How awful and poor baby :(
Please don't blame your Human for all this gaga, this Eddie is way to cute!!! but it's sooo nice of you, you went just mini-poodle (hahaha) instead of regulad poodle :) Practice and be patient please, because I think 2012 will be FULL of ridiculous pug cutness :) kisses Misiober

So just to clrify, you went toy poodle instead of standard poodle on Eddie? Oh well, it just reminds your human that she needs to dole out the treats equally!

Glad to hear Dutch is feeling better

MochiMachoMarshmallow said...

Hey Puglet,
I go poodle on my brothers if I see them getting more treats then me. Just because I'm a little bit more pudgier than them does not mean that I should be getting less. I hope you come to New York. Maybe you can work with Curly Tail Pug Rescue here. We want to be in your book.

Goog Morning Sunshine! Sounds like yall had an awesome weekend. Cletus and I are so glad Emi is feeling better and can start being the Pug she is ment to be. We are also glad Dutch is feeling less Jan. Puglet, Cletus would have gone psycho poodle on someone if he would have had to share his Omegas too. Glad you only went toy poodle. But practice does make perfect Pug, so practice on. Yall have an awesome day!

YAY for Emi!! Such a sweetie.
Pug, I'm not sure where you get such info, but no pug is cuter than you. I know your human aww's and shares cookies, but she LOVES you. You are supermodel Pug!

Deb and Daisy said...

Remember Puglet, if it wasn't for you there would be NO 1000 pugs. You are the spokespug and the inspiration for the whole thing! No other pug can ever have that spot!

Emi is such a brave pug! Maybe your human will take more pictures of her to share with us? Hint, hint.

As far as going poodle on Eddie, it wasn't his fault. Your human loves you more than any other pug but it is nice to see you sharing Nikon with others. There will be more of that in 2012! And more cookies, omega or not!

We love you!

Glad to see you've come around to the whole 1000 Pugs thing Pug! I knew you would and how could you not with you being the NUMBER ONE PUG! But practice? You? Come on, you don't need to practice being cute and puggy or pugsley or anything like that...I mean you are PUGLET and that's all that matters! But totally understand that you went mini-poodle, and so glad it wasn't a total poodle you did! Glad to see Emi is doing better...that is great news!

Great to see you Puglet! We sure had fun at the Pug Saturday meetup. I am defintely going next time :) Those salmon omegas your humom brought to bribe us into posing for Nilon were Momma needs to get some ASAP! I am glad that Emi is getting better. Before she moved away, my sister Stella would go poodle on me all the time, so I'm kinda used to it. Have a super fun week!
Happy snorts and snuffles,
Your Pal Eddie

OMG...we're so glad that Emi is better, and mom kind of feels bad for laughing at you saying that her "eyeball exploded" on the lady's leg (OMGGGGGGGGGG!!!)

Good work practicing with Eddie! I'm sure he didn't mind you going Poodle on him...he looks like he could handle it! ;-)

Hi Puglet
Good news about Emi. She is super cute and in need of super lovin' by the whole community.
I am practicing for 1000 pugs too cuz I wanna be a PART!! I am practicing my Whattheheck? look. Do you think that is appropriate? I can also practice my Ain'tItheCutest? look as well.
Worked at Pugoween!

Heya Noodle ~

Oh, Emi is totally a pug now. She snarfed down 3 whole jerky treats in 2 seconds. There are pictures on the 1kpugs facebook thing.

Thanks for the advice. I'll keep being me. #1/1000 me ;)

THE PUGLET said...

Hiya Sammy,

Oh, I had loads of practice. Wait, you'll see tomorrow. After the semi-poodle moment with Eddie I got better. Not happier, but better.

THE PUGLET said...

Wow. That is an awesome collection of Jimmies. I think I like orb the best, but only because you live really far away. I bet my human would give you every single one of my cookies if she saw you doing that.

I'm pretty sure there will be a section in the 1kpugs book just for Jimmy poses, so keep working it.

Hey B+B,

I know my human said something about DC being not too far from NJ, but since I won't be going on the freaking tour, I'm trying not to get involved. I'll put in a plug for you though... if you tell me what a plug is.

THE PUGLET said...

Hiya Misiober~

Yeah, I think Emi's eye pretty much exploded. Not with a bang or anything, more like it squished into pieces and oozed eye juice. I heard all sorts of EEEEEEEEEEWING when she called my human about it.

I feel kinda bad about the near poodle incident with Eddie, but you're right - I could have gone full poodle on him, but I didn't.

THE PUGLET said...

Hiya Sabrina!

Hee hee. Yep. That's pretty much how it went. Eddie got the toy instead of the standard.

THE PUGLET said...

Hi 3Ms,

I think NY is next to NJ and I know my human is 100% going to NJ because that's where her family and my cousin Sophie live. I heard something about Brooklyn, maybe??

Gracie the Agility Pug said...

Welcome to rescue. Exploding eyes come with the territory, my mom says. And pugs always feel better once the nastiness is gone - glad Emi's feeling better.

As for Eddie....I'm swooning here. He is totally dreamy. You are cute, but he's the bomb.

Sue and Annie said...

I'm glad you got to see Emi and that she is doing so much better.l

Before long you will be a pro as the #1 Spokespug for 1000 pugs and everything will be ok.

Hiya Puglet!!!! We are soooooo glad to hear that Emi is rid of that nasty eye and feeling better. If there is anyone out there who wants to make a donation toward her vet bills CCPR has a "Dollar Matching Fund Raiser" going on until the 11th. A Pug Angel is going to match dollar for dollar up to a maximum of $1000. You can find the information here....

Pug you have to get the head tilt down. Gracie and I would get a perfect "10" EVERY time. Humans TOTALLY LOVE it. Trust me on this, get the head tilt down and you will get an endless supply of AWWWWWW'S and TREAT'S.

Yay for Emi getting better and having her eye get fixed. Glad Dutch is feeling better and not all Jan-y. And love that pic of the head tilting.
Delaware is close to NJ we're excited for the tour!

Pearl and Tessa said... Emi staying with you? I am sure she is going to find a great home. So glad to hear she is ok.

Tessa does the head thing, Jimmy's AND has her toungue hanging out ridiculously cute. Pearl is just plain cute...white with her brown spot, a totally different looking pug...can't wait for 1000!

I the 1000 pug tour can get to NJ I hope you can get to Maine. We SO want to be part of it! I'm trying to Jaspers pug rescue (Prone) on board!
I'm so glad Emi is doing well, I've been thinking about her a lot.

THE PUGLET said...

Heya Christa and Cletus ~

Good to know I'm not the only one who'd go poodle on a buddy over a bunch of Omegas. Eddie's tough though. He didn't really seem to notice too much.

THE PUGLET said...

There's this thing called APM - Awwws Per Minute. It's how you can tell who's the cutest. My APM is lower than Frank's and no where near as high as Eddie's.

I think it's the head tilt. I'm not a great tilter and for some reason, humans got nuts over the tilt.

Anonymous said...

Puglet, Eddie may be a head tilter, but you look so suave posing there on that fence. You're so cool, leaning oh-so-casually on into your elbow, and even have your pseudo thumb up on it! Dang!

My human says you remind her of Puss in Boots, the movie she saw this weekend, a real lady killer (no idea). Head tilters ain't got nothin' on you she said!

BadAnnie said...

Sal! You can't be going poodle or even mini-poodle on other pugs! You'll get your paws slapped and that means NO COOKIES!! That would be CAT-astrophic!!

Rocky, the Texas pug.

My human had a recycled pug named Tuti before I was ever even thought of. Tuti was old and one day she fell
down the stairs and her eye, that was in as bad shape as Emis (basically happened overnight) exploded. The worst part is that This happened right in the middle of Hurricane Wilma which they were without power for weeks. Bottom line, Tuti went to sleep. My human said it was a very sad day cause Tuti was a great (gassy, fat, and buck toothed) pug who brought so much happiness into the house. My human is so Happy that Emi is ok
