Remember last year when my human made me wear deer ears for the entire month of December? Well, I do. And yesterday I had total flashbacks when she stuck this thing on my head and starting taking pictures.
I was afraid it might be the start of month-long holiday humiliation, 2011. But I guess she just needed pictures for the December SYOP announcement. And I was totally cool with that until she posted this 'very dorky out take' on the 1000 Pugs facebook page.
Yeah, that's what she called it: very dorky out take. Uhm, she's the one who put the stupid hat thing on me like that. And I'm the dork?? I mean, do you have any idea how hard it is to supermodel when you're being eaten by a hat?
My human claims she was afraid the hat's teeth (made of soft felt) might poke me in the eye. Well, hello! If you're afraid of poking your pug's eye out with a hat, don't dress your pug in a hat. Or at least not a hat that has teeth.
Anyway. At least we got to go to the beach when it was all over. We haven't been to the ocean-beach in forever and I even found a dead crab to roll in. The warm sunniness made my human happy and thought you might like it too.
It's going to be a superbusy week here on the DP. Dutch picked out a really cool non-pink prize for his SYOP winner and will announce it tomorrow (sorry, I really had to tell you about the hat thing). I also got a VERY special delivery I can't wait to show you (thanks Bambi!!). Rumor has it we'll also be getting a pug-sized tree, with eatable ornaments and everything. But I'll believe that when I eat - I mean, see it.

Hey Pug. That thing on your head does NOT look like fun! Does this mean December's SYOP is also NOT fun?!? Personally, I think you should stick with the food themes....
I was suppose to go to Lowe's with my peeps, but it was too rainy. They have super small trees just like the rosemary ones that others were talking about, but they were real leafless trees, and I wanted to get a picture by it to send you. If you get one with eatable stuff you must let us know as soon as it happens so we can all try to get one. I think that would make this the ultimate Christmas! Sorry about the hat modeling. Posing for my Christmas card wasn't any better. What we do for our moms is crazy!
Love,
Payton
PS. My mom says that the sunny beach picture did make her feel better!
Aw, we love that sunny picture! It's very foggy and dreary on the East coast today. But the best part that picture is the curly tail...

I commented on facebook yesterday that you did not look happy, but your still adorable.
Glad you had fun at the ocean-beach you haven't been to forever. It turned out to be a great day after all.
That hat is not attractive and not cute at all..can't believe she made you put it on! Oh well...but seeing that little part of you at the beach was cute though! And hearing you might get a pug size tree with eatables on it, well that was great news! I am so excited and can hardly wait to see it..uh, if it's really true!
We are sorry that you have a pug hungry hat but even as a dork, you are adorable. We wish we could participate in the SYOP but our human has an extreme phobia of social networking. If we could be the faces on facebook without involving her we could do SYOP and maybe even be Pug Sluts!
Luv, Zoey & Phoebe
Dear Pug. This here is your good pal, Howie. You got a thang on your head and its gots teefs. You might wanna get that checked out real fast.
your helpful and supportive pal,
PeeMan
Hi Puglet,
Ok, we have to say it the hat is dorky! Really Dorky !
We can't wait to see your pug sized tree with eatables on it. We certainly could use one.
Our mom found about a 4 month old little girl pug with a broken leg at a vets office, the owner wants to put her down because he said she doesn't play well with his kids, not because he can't afford to fix the broken leg.
Mom is helping to find her a home, we'll keep you updated.

That sunny beach made me feel much better too! Instead I have wind and cold, not funny at all!!! I'm also glad that this chapeau didn't eat you head and/or brain!! Without the thumbs AND the brain there wouldn't be DP I guess:( and it would make me REALLY SAD! Kisses Misiober
Puglet,
Having a Christmas tree full of eatables (like Spam and bacon? So not fair!) totally makes up for moments of humiliation like this one with the weird hat.
More sunny beach shots to get us through a dark and dreary winter, please! Your curly tail adds an extra dose of happiness to the photo.
Can't wait to find out about your special delivery from Bambi!
3E's - Putting down a puppy with a broken leg?! That man is missing a vital organ - his heart. She definitely deserves a happy ending and I know she'll find it with your human's help.
Putting down? Because she doesn't play with his children?? She isn't a toy!!!!!! Well done 3E's mom!!!! Please keep us informed!!! These sick and stupid people still can suprise me:(
Puglet,
I think your hat is really kinda handsome, or should I say you make it look handsome. Not you worry, you supermodel well in everything.
Love ya,
Lucy
Dorky yet very cute. I see your professioinalism. Impressive !
I am with Misiober. 3Es, please keep us posted on the poor baby pug. Maybe she will be 4th E for Christmas??
Lovies
Sammy
To the 3E's mama. Thank you for helping that poor baby pug. The kids, or maybe even the dad, are probably the cause o her broken leg, and just what kind of play was he expecting? Idiot.
Hi Noodle!
No, it wasn't really fun. At all. But I got loads of treats, so I guess that's OK.
Not 100% sure what the SYOP will be. I told my human that making pugs wear hats is borderline animal cruelty so hopefully she'll listen. I heard her say something about mittens and scarves though, so who knows. It could get worse!
Puglet,
I hope you got a whole bunch of Pirate's Booty for wearing that dorky hat. Or at least a month's worth of cookies.
I'll just keep staring at your beach picture. It's way better than the world of snow that is outside my window.
3E's,
We fostered a 4 month old Puggle last December who's ownder had brought in to the vet's office to be put down because he had parvo - because they hadn't bothered to get him vaccinated. We are livng beings, not toys or fashion statements.
Licks,
Sabrina
Hiya Payton,
We're waiting for Delancey Street to get more pug-trees. I guess they were all out of them yesterday. Weekend Christmas rush or something...
Heya M+S ~
Yuck. Your winter weather sounds like our summer weather. It was 70 degrees here last week. Today it's like 58 and my human broke out the hat and gloves for our AM walk.... except her hat didn't have teeth!
Hi Sue + Romeo ~
Not a huge hat fan, especially hats that are too small and have teeth - but I guess I was happy on the inside. Y'know, in my belly.
Hiya Maggie!
I had the choice between brain-sucking Godzilla hat and something 'cute' but even dorkier. I went for tough over cute. Of course my human made me wear the 'cute' one too.
SIGH.
Hi Zoey & Phoebe,
Yeah, I know how it is. I have a facebook page with like 8 million friends and I never get to use it because of my human's FBook-itis. Maybe you could ask Bellatrix's human to post for you? She LOVES facebook!
Hey Howie Peeman,
Yeah. I know. Don't have to rub it in...
Puglet did you say something about gloves?? Seriously ?
Update - the SA Pug Rescue group found someone to take the broke leg pug.
3E's
3 Es!
Wait. What? I think that dude needs to have his head examined. Or his leg broken. Or both!
(I vote both)
Hmmm. Could this be the start of the 4th E?
Hi Misiober!
Don't worry, my brain is still in there. Casa de Puglet can't have any more gimpy brains :D
Hey Ollie ~
Holy. A Spam tree? Can you imagine?? Something tells me that's not going to happen (I saw a box of bone-shaped cookies on the kitchen counter) but that would be the best christmas tree ever in the history of all christmas trees.
I hear your contract calls for extra treats for any headwear!!
Good negotiating Pug!!
Paula from DE
Thanks Sammy (+Neko)
I'm glad someone appreciated my suffering.
Hi Sabrina!
Glad you can stare at our sun and make the snow go away. I saw snow once. Am hoping to again, someday.
SIGH.
Hiya Paula ~
Heck yeah it does! After last year's deer-ear month I made sure all headwear-wearing photo shoots = 2x the normal amount of treats.
Yesterday I got crunchy cod skin. My human says it smells like death, but I think it's supertasty. She calls me death-breath anyway, so who cares.
Good news, 3Es!
Yep. I did hear her say mittens.
3Es, yay for a happy ending. Thank you again for helping this baby.
Hey Pug,
Just got your pug spotter cards in the mail over the weekend! Super excited to stalk some pugs!! :) Thanks much!
Pug Hugs,
Ash and Emma
Hi Ash + Emma,
Glad the cards made it to you :) Emma, if your human starts walking up to total stranger pugs - don't worry, she still loves you. It's just the pug-stalker cards.
heya pug! mom says the syop could be either pugs waiting for santa, or pugs getting ready for new years but both could involve hats (i hate things on my head. not happening, even for bacon)
Oh Puglet! I hope you ot lots a extra treats for wearing those hats...
XOXO
Eddie the Pug
Adorable!
Owww a pug-sized tree with eatable ornaments sounds incredible! I think you look super cute in your hat, even if it looks like it is eatting you heee, heee! Looking forward to seeing all the busyness on the Daily Pug - lots of festive fun I hope! Love, Phugs and licks from Frank xxxxxx
