VOTE IF YOU LOVE PUGS

My human says I'm not allowed to talk about sex, religion or politics here on The Daily Puglet. And that's usually fine by me because I don't usually care about any of those things. But not today. Today, I care.

Because yesterday I saw this dude holding a sign telling people to vote NO on something called Proposition L. The dude said if enough people vote yes, San Francisco will ban sitting or lying on public sidewalks - something I do all the time. His sign, as you can see, says sidewalks are for people.

People?
Are they trying to ban dogs from just being on the sidewalks too??

I was a little worried (and confused) by the whole thing, but Google cleared things up in about 2 seconds. Nobody's trying to ban dogs from sitting or lying or doing anything on the sidewalk - but a lot of important things will be decided on tomorrow. And I don't get to help decide because I'm 'just' a pug.

It kinda sucks that dogs aren't allowed to vote, because I have all sorts of opinions about politics now. But you can. So please do.

Like, now. OK?

* * * Election Day Update * * *

I tried to vote even though I don't have thumbs. The man at the voting place was supernice but still said no. He gave my human extra 'I VOTED' stickers for me & Dutch so we could at least pretend to have a political voice.

Of course she just stuck them on our heads and took pictures.

I don't like the name of that website...I mean what kind of human would believe that sidewalks are only for people? I am glad that Google cleared up the confusion and that dogs are allowed on the sidewalk but still....I agree that dogs should be able to vote because they have opinions that are worth listening to!

Hi Puglet,
My Mommy voted. She always does. She says that it is important to the working of our governments. Don't vote - don't complain about things not going your way.
And pugs/dogs have rights too - but like children, they need grownups to look after their rights.

Good message, Puglet. Maybe someday our humans can pass a measure to allow Pugs to vote. I know I have a lot to say, too.

Hope your human is feeling better.

Hi Puglet,

Great job getting the message out. Now it's my turn....I'm spreading the word - VOTE!

Hi Puglet,
We wish people in Texas would vote to allow dogs especially ~pugs~ in places like they do in California.
Ellie, Emmitt and Eli from where else, Texas the state that doesn't let dogs do anything fun!

Puglet,
You are far more than just a pug. But, you are right, all those humans Do need to get out there and vote.

You're right Puglet. Dogs deserve the vote! I don't know anything about Proposition L (I'm Canadian) but I too, have some strong opinions:
1. Dogs should not only be allowed into restaurants, they should be able to order off the menu and have a meal with their human -like those Parisian dogs!
2. We should be allowed into grocery stores/ butcher shops to buy stuff AND participate in any store product demonstrations and/or sample give aways.
3. There's more - I just can't think of anything else right now.
We should lobby for an annual global "Stop Canine Discrimination Day".
P.S. I just googled Prop. L - it sucks.

Vote, vote, vote!!! My hu-mom said dogs aren't allowed in the booth here in VA, so we have to wait outside when she votes! Can you believe that?

Great message!

Hey Pug, my mom loves to vote. She said the day she turned 18 (centuries ago snorts) she ran out to register. How dorky is she? I am not sure Pugs should vote, I mean I can't even decide what toy to play with sometimes. Then again, if I had my say I'd get more to eat. Ugh.....so confusing.

Hi Pug,
Proud to say my Mom voted today! That would be bad if pugs couldn't sit & lay on sidewalks. Good for you on getting to word out.

Ellie, Emmit, Eli - never been to San Antonio, I'm here to say First hand that Austin has TONS of Pug places to go. I'm on adventures every weekend. Maybe you three should try a road trip up 35 & check out Music Capitol of the World. There are even dog friendly hotels. This is on my list to do, pug ordering room service, sigh.

Hugs,
Suki

That's right Puglet! I know I have lots of opinions too...and my mom certainly does. A big NO on Prop L is for sure. Keep on the keeping up Puglet- you are a wise one.

Hey Suki from Austin,
Our mom takes to hotels and we have a blast. Elevators are a favorite, a little box that deposits you someplace else.
We're going to Belton this weekend to an agility trial but next on our list will be Music Capitol. Thanks for the idea.

Hi Ellie, Emmit, & Eli,
Elevators make my tummy feel funny, I turn into a flat pug. When you are thinking about visiting the Music Capitol, have your Mom send me an email, maybe we can meet somewhere pug friendly.

Good luck with agility!

Hi Suki,
There should be an agility trial coming up soon in Austin. Maybe we can get together, we'll keep you posted.

San Antonio Pugs,
That would be great.

Thanks Pug for bringing together new friends. Just an idea, it would be great if we could have an annual Puglet meet up from everyone that follows you. It would be so much fun!

Hi Puglet! I voted! Thanks for passing on the word to get everyone's humans to vote today. And I'm really glad that San Francisco is not trying to ban pugs and all the rest of dogs from sidewalks!

I can't vote here, but I'd absolutely say No to that one!

Our human was so disappointed to see that L is on the ballot & even more disappointed that she couldn't vote against it because we live on the other side of the grey bridge. Our human sent in her votes weeks ago & is anxious to see how the election turns out. Thanks for spreading the word.

My humans voted. We stopped somewhere strange on our way to work this morning. When my human got back in the car she had a sticker that read, "I voted." My human also said that the world would probably be a better place if dogs could vote. She says we're a better judge of character than most humans. She also thinks that since "Pugs love love," we would always vote for the best interest of everyone.

Way to go Pug & Dutch. The Tri-lingual stickers, you both know how to rock them!

I think:

- Ollie the Canadian beagle should run for President

- Suki's idea to have an annual/worldwide Daily Puglet meetup day sounds *awesome*

- Noodle's human is supersmart. Pugs love love more than some people. We would only vote for the good stuff

- I'm glad I don't live in Texas

Hey Puglet!

You did vote! You have a voice and you voted with that! You sent out the positive vibration! And you did make a difference!

Well, Puglet, on a lighter note, you do talk about sex (humping look-alike Frank, and butt-kicking Bellatrix), you talk about religion, Um, Hello! Food! Is that not your religion?

And now it only makes sense that you would talk about politics.
So well done! Keep spreading the word about the three unmentionables!
