Y'know, I was totally surprised to hear I'm not the only one afraid of tinfoil. Dutch always laughs at me about it and he's the wimpiest dog on earth, so I thought I was some kind of freak or something.

Knowing I'm not the only tinfoil-fearing freak out there made me feel better, so today I'm going to confess all my fears. OK, maybe just the top three ones. And Dutch's too.

Here goes...

My name is Puglet, and I'm afraid of:

1. Tinfoil
2. My human when she catches me eating poo.
3. Uhmmm... microwave popcorn?

Dutch is afraid of lots of stuff, but here's the top 3:

1. Cows
2. White-stuff-in-a-can (aka whipped cream)
3. His own farts

Sharing this stuff doesn't make anything less scary. But it makes you feel kinda good. What's on your Top 3 list of scary things?

My name is Helio and I am a pug and I am afraid of a Hallmark Valentine's card with a pug on it that when you open it, a voice sings Boom Boom. I am also afraid of Mommy talking through a paper towel tube. And the sound that rattled paper makes. My pug sister Raven is not afraid of much. She attacks the Dyson. She is afraid of a full page NYTimes Ralph Lauren Ad of a man wearing a dark suit. He has a mean look on his face so she barks at it. My pug Aunt Bing Bing thinks we are silly because Mommy and Daddy always protect us. Our Cat Cousin Cosmo is only afraid of the house cleaner.

Mimi, Diva Dog extraordinare said...

I'm Mimi, and I'm not afraid of anything, but I very much dislike:
1. the vacuum. why is it messing with MY floor?
2. the dryers at the groomers. they are loud and obnoxious
3. when mom tries to do anything other than worshiping me (ear cleaning, eye gunk removal, etc) unless there are treats involved.

i get startled when i fart, but not afraid. i bark at my reflection in the tv...

and i guess if i have to choose a real 'fear' its being around too many unfamiliar dogs. then i stick close to mom so i can buy my face in her fat belly if i'm feeling overwhelmed

Hi my name is Barney the pug and I'm afraid of...

1. Going outside when it's below 20 degrees (I roll over on my belly, refuse to get up, and act like my mom is torturing me when she forces me to potty outside in the cold)
2. My booties and coat that my momma tries to use to make going outside in the cold less scary.
3. Thinking my momma might make me sleep on the floor.

My name is Mariah and I'm afraid of:

2. Mom's blowdryer (though I'm getting over this one a little bit).

3. The Gentle Leader (I'll skip a walk, my fav thing on the entire planet, if it involves one of these beasts!).

The vacuum is pure evil so I immediately throw my 95 lbs. of fur at it while growling and barking and I chase it all over the house until I've finally "killed" it, then mom gives me a treat :-)

Hi Puglet!

Well I didn't know what that tin foil stuff was so I asked my mom to show me to see if I was scared of it. NOT scared of it! But I think it's because you taught me how to fight off a mountain lion and I've been practicing with my sister Luna (THE world's biggest fraidy-cat) and I've got my growl down PERFECT! So that's prolly why I'm not afraid of tin foil. The only thing I'm afraid of is when my mom runs out of duck wrapped sweet potatoes. THAT really scares me! But Luna is scared of 1) anything loud 2) but especially thunder and 3) the kitchen floor.... I know, TOTALLY weird! These big dogs look all tough, but they're not really. So now I am waiting at the window for my first mountain lion.....

Hi Puglet,

I have to admit that Gracie and I do NOT like tin foil at all. When our human got new living room furniture she decided she didn't want us up on it doing our WWWF SMACK-DOWN thing. Her friend told her to put sheets of foil on the couch and chair and that would teach us to stay off. Well let me tell you that Gracie was the first one to jump on the chair. She was so scared by the foil that her feet were moving at like 100 mph just trying to get off. The foil got all ripped up and went flying every where. My human laughed so hard she cried. Then we jumped on the couch and there it was again making SCARY noises and freaking us out. So now Gracie and I are afraid of foil.

Gracie is like Dutch and scared of LOTS of things. I think the next scariest thing is the vent fan above the stove. She TOTALLY freaks and runs out of the kitchen. She also is TERRIFIED of water/swimming. She's so scared my human won't let anyone take her in the pool. She says it would be mean.

As far as I go I do NOT like it when things are someplace they shouldn't be, like a coat hanging on the doorknob, or a blanket draped over the computer chair. I get all freaky and bark. I try to be brave and get closer and take ONE. SLOW. STEP. at a time. The other day my human saw me doing this and said in a VERY quiet voice "boo". I jumped so high I had all four feet off the floor. My human looked at me and said "Benny you make me laugh EVERY single day!!!

The last thing we are afraid of, or should I say don't like is the vacuum. We attack it EVERY time.

And Puglet as far as poop doesn't bother me one darn bit that my human yells at me and lifts me up so my front feet don't even touch the ground when I eat it. She wishes I feared her but I don't. I just love poop too much.

Dear Puglet,
My human just saw this (she spent the day at home and away from the computer with me and Chili yesterday), but she thought it was good therapy for us to confess our fears too, with everyone else, so here goes. I am Coco and I am afraid of the stove when it's on. My human always sets off the smoke alarm when she cooks, so as soon as she turns on the stove I start trembling in the corner. She never (rarely) burns anything, and she tells me we have a very sensitive smoke alarm, but it freaks me out! It's an OK fear though, because she feels so guilty about traumatizing me that she feeds me lots of yummy treats while the stove is on. I'm also afraid of our cellar. When the humans open the door to it and walk down the stairs, I peer cautiously down into the house pit from around the corner.
Chili doesn't seem to be afraid of anything. He even goes down in the cellar with the humans. One time Jersey Shore was on TV and he barked every time Sammie Sweetheart came on TV, so maybe he was afraid of her, or he just didn't like her. We haven't watched her since, so we don't know.
I hope everyone gets good therapy from confessing their fears.

Coco the pug (and Chili the pug).
