CRISPY BABY PIG FACE

sitting on a truck doesn't count
So, after the radio man was done talking about another snowmageddon on the Other Coast, a radio lady came on to talk about something even more serious: a bacon shortage. Something about China, economics, sick baby pigs and corn?

No idea.

I didn't really get all the facts because radio lady used the word BACON a lot and every time she said BACON all I could think about was BACON. Until she said this:

Our deep love of bacon is pushing us to boldly brave new frontiers of pork eating.

Huh what?!? Brave new frontiers of pork eating?? I have a deep love of bacon. Maybe I'll deeply love pork too.

I  mean, talking my human into giving me bacon is practically impossible. The closest I usually get to bacon is the outside of the Bacon Bacon Truck. But I've never tried asking for pork. First attempt went like this:

ME: can I have some pork?
HUMAN: pork?
ME: y'know, bacon's cousin.
HUMAN: (confused) (or just ignoring me)
ME:  NPR says crispy baby pig face is delicious.

Ok, so I didn't have any better luck scoring pork. Dutch says I shouldn't have started with something with with the words "baby pig face" in it, but that's what the radio lady said was so tasty.

The good thing about having a gimpy-brained human is in a few days she'll forget this ever happened and I can try again. So if you know of any good pork eatables that don't have a face and aren't a baby, please let me know!

Puglet, my sister, Lucy, has more allergies than you can shake a squeaky toy at. She's allergic to chicken, eggs, peanut butter, etc, etc, etc... (Oh, yeah, thanks for the heads up about Justin's! Mom had to switch to almond butter to give us our vitamins and she bought Justin's because you said it was good-LOVE that stuff!!!) So, anyway, Mom has to make our food out of stuff Lucy's not allergic to. So she cooks a "pork butt" in the crock pot and chops that up with cooked carrots and potatoes. It makes a lot so she puts it in containers in the freezer. We love it and mom thinks it's also helping us to be less tubey. Your human might not be so offended at cooking a pork butt than she was at baby pig faces. Judging from yesterday's post, butts aren't a big deal in your neighborhood.
Hope you get to score some pork!
Your friend, C. Penfold McGee

Two words: Hog Jowl. That CAN't be baby pig face. It sounds like something no one wants.

Two words: Hog Jowl. There is no way that sounds anything like baby pig face.

Puglet,
I've heard things...like all pigs parts are suppose to be
delish: ears, snout, tail, feet. And especially a roasted pig - then you're in for a chew fest! Check out the roasted piggies hanging in the windows of meat shops in chinatown.
If your human is a vegetarian, it's going to be a horror show for her but you're going to love it!

3days later and there is still too much snow on our roads! We need bacon or pork to survive!

Oh my, baby pig face? Oooohhh, your human must have really freaked out about that one. I think bacon will still be around without much of a problem, so don't worry. Your human may decide to break down and get some for you if you give her "The Look" enough times.

Hi Puglet,
My human also does not allow me to eat pork, baby pork or not. She is vegetarian because she loves animals, I am actually quite lucky that she is buying meat for me. We visit once a month a BARF meat shop, a delicious sensation for me, a horror trip for her!

But she loves me and so my plate is always properly filled with meat. fish and veggies - no pork!I do not know bacon(yet)but would like to have some eventually.

Your cousin Carlos Santana from Berlin - covered in snow, phantastic!

My Zoe suggests asking for smoked jowls. They're kinda like bacon, but usually cut much thicker.

Zoe likes when I cook them in chicken broth and chop them up to mix in her kibbles. I usually let her have some of the broth, too.
