IT'S NOT YOUR FAULT

Ok. I was kinda P-O'd when I found out you were helping Dutch pick out sweaters for the mystery trip. But then my human pointed out how Dutch asked so nicely for help and you were just being your normal awesome selves. Even though Dutch totally lied about never going anywhere but Reno, and I totally hate being wrong, I guess she's right. It's not your fault your awesome.

So now I'm just mad at Dutch. And his stupid purple octopus. And both pink sweaters. I hope he freezes his spots off on the other coast.

The only good news is I'll be staying at Pug Mecca when my human abandons me. At least for half of the time. The blonde lady who lives there is supersweet and she even has a dude. And you know what dudes mean. Meat!

Not sure where I'll be the other half of the time. Miley's mom said I could stay with her, but spotted-Miley kinda hates me and her brother Boka isn't exactly my biggest fan. I could stay at Frank's, but Frank holds his pee a loooooong time when his dad is at work and my human's not sure if I can. I told her I can do anything but she's not convinced.

I wish my human would let me stay home alone with a great big bowl of food and access to the cookie jar. I mean, we have a dog door. You could all come over with lots of food and we could stay up all night watching Animal Planet and party like rockstars! Or just sit around and eat stuff.

Party at Casa de Puglet!!!

DO NOT tell my human I said that. Just in case.

Please, everyone, let's keep this a place where we can feel the joy and happiness Pug brings us. To those of you who are waiting for pictures, I understand your frustration, but I beg you to please, please not ruin this spot of joy in a kinda depressing world for everyone. To those of you mad at those who are complaining, please try to understand that they are frustrated and to be civil. And please, everyone, don't let your own anger or frustration take the joy of Pug away from everyone else.

Miss Amanda, Puglet, and Dutch: thanks for the update you gave us on December 21, 2012. Once-a-month updates are enough for us. We know your working hard on perfecting the other 999 pictures! We are looking forward to having our pictures emailed to us when they are ready. This blog you do FOR us takes but a minute to put-out and its something we look forward to each day! Sounds like your Eat Coast trip maybe part picture do-overs and part visiting you mum since her heart attack - Miss Amanda and Dutchy have a safe trip! And Puglet, Pug Mecca sounds like fun!

We Love you! Pug Love, Black Pearl and Otis from Seattle

To y'all that were part of 1000 pugs and are complaining, shamers. Miss Amanda is doing her best. Besides, you lived near one of the meccas she was able to attend...I live in the middle of nowhereland and if I could have had my 5 pugs in the books, I would gladly wait 8+ months or more until Amanda had the time. Besides, I would think that you smart people would have gotten her e-mail address to e-mail her personally. Talk about unprofessional!! Pft!! Besides, the best things come to those who wait...I hate to think of where you come from...the society of instant gratification. If so, you should have gone to Wal-Mart with you photocard and paid the Kodak machine for photos. Talent requires patient waiting.
Much Luvums to Amanda, Dutch, & Puglet,

I'm all in for a PAR-TAY at Casa de Pug! And I don't live too far away- just a hop skip and a jump over the bridge. We have lots of foodables at our house that I can bring... just say the word and I'm there!

If that's a no-go, maybe you could stay at Bella-T's house- I hear she's missing chewing on your back fat!

Hello, Im From the Ft Lauderdale Florida Shoot. I want to jump in here. I agree The Pug blog is cute. I am also waiting to hear about the photos. Mine was in April. TO Slimmer Puggums.. the reason why people that are upset are invading this blog is because we HAVE emailed her personal email duh! Look at that we indeed are smart people! As for myself I received no reply ever. I e-mailed more than once also. I imagine the same has happened to everyone else that e-mailed from the looks of the posts. Im sure most people that are posting here are doing it because its the only place to know for sure she is receiving the questions as to what is happening. Besides if this blog is just for pug happiness then why post the "Dec 21st" update here and not on Facebook where there are over 3000 followers and people asking about the photos? If you post an update here people are going to comment here..I do understand its a big project and health issues but it makes me sad that people are arguing and lashing out when a simple update would end all this JEEZ! For the record I would also wait for my picture as long as it takes but I understand the upset people!

After reading all these comments for days now Im hoping she will no longer update the 1000 Pugs photos here and will update her Facebook. After all that is the 1000 pugs page not here right? Half the people there dont follow the blog and have no idea what the status is it looks like. That way we can keep Pugs blog happy and Drama free :)

I get a laugh and a joy each day from reading about Puglet and his life. I know Amanda is working hard and frequently mentions her trips to photograph pugs which is enough of an update for me. Projects of this caliber take awhile. Amanda is a talented professional and I trust I will be pleased with the end product no matter how long it takes.

Puglet...have fun while Dutch and Amanda are gone!

Don't let anyone run you away from updating all of us - especially with the pictures and the naked santas. We really liked the naked santas!

I too love Pug and Dutch's adventures and have had my Fiona in Portland, OR photographed for The 1000 Pugs. I just ask the people that are unhappy to be patient, I really think this is a wonderful project, it has generated a lot of money for rescues across the country and Amanda is a talented artist/photographer and I for one cannot wait to see the fruits of her labors. She is just one woman who took on a bigger project than I thnk anyone realized and who can blame her for being a bit overwhelmed. That is all.

People shouldn't have to scroll through Amanda's Puglet blog each time it is posted with hopes of hearing something about the project.

I agree with the other posters, Amanda should have enough respect for her followers and 1000 pug supporters and fellow pugs to provide information that they are seeking. It is too bad that Amanda's personal blog has resorted to this, but there is no other way for people connected to the 1000 pugs project to connect to Amanda.

Hey Guys,

I too, am confused and concerned about the 1000 Pugs project. I read the 12-21-12 Blog, which stated that,

"The best end of all? My human is finally FINALLY ready to start sending pictures out to the Other 999. The official stuff will go out this weekend, but I'm so freaking excited about it - you have no idea. NO IDEA. No more hikeless, blogless days. No more sleepless, grumpy stressed out human or crazy ranting about how fawn pugs soak up bad color like cute little sponges and how blue sky and green grass are just so (HBO-word) evil. Yeah. That's right. She said pugs are sponges and grass is evil. Told you. Crazy."

Puglet's (Amanda's) post makes it seem like the pictures were to be emailed out or 1000 pugs people contacted that weekend; however, I am part of the project and have not heard anything. Does anyone know what is going on and could you please fill me in? Thanks.

Hello puglet it seems my human also asked a few times just the other day on the blog about the pictures and also got no response. She finally just gave up. I told her not to worry because after all these posts, still no one has answerd the question. What is happening with the project? It seems no one not even the faithful pugs following the blog daily know what's going on so I told her not to worry. Hopefully I can see my picture soon.

Satchel and Owen can wait patiently for their proofs and I, as their human, can too. Please remember this was a fundraiser for pug rescue and a massive project and no one could have anticipated the time and effort involved. If all you do is stalk this blog all day for some pug photos you really do need to get more of a life. Or some therapy. I sure hope you are good to your pug(s) because you sure don't seem very nice to humans.

Satch and Owen also would love to have you come over for a sleepover anytime, Puglet! They have their own floor of a 3 floor apartment, and are 10 minutes walk from a beautiful beach. And a cute little sister named Lola, who happens to be single and looking.

Hi Puglet,

I usually never comment because my human doesn't let me borrow her thumbs, but she was nice today. My humans and I just wanted to leave a nice comment to balance out the universe; they invest in Kickstarter projects knowing there are massive risks associated with humans taking on new projects that they might not have ever tried before, so we know to wait patiently. As long as I can keep visiting your blog and eat vicariously through you (my humans don't let me have human food), I'm a happy pug. I'll be an extra-happy pug when I see my supermodel headshots and can see the Other 999 on our coffee table, but until then, please accept my e-cookies as a thank you for working so hard.

Hey puglet! Well this is a blog full of action. Its actually kind of comical. Lol @ the table flipping comment and the funny names people are posting with. My heart goes out to amanda who has taken on a huge project! No doubt the finished product is going to be awesome! To the patient people I say bravo for us. I guess that includes me too but for the inpatient people hey we are not all the same. I'd be lying if I didn't admit I'm kinda curious myself at this point where are we at? So in a nice way if amanda could give a little tiny update I think it will balance everyone out and everyone can go back to being happy pug campers! Just get it over with I say! Oh and puglet stay home and have bacon dipped in peanut butter!

Puglet and Amanda, we can't imagine what it must be like to undertake such a huge project in the first place, but we are so glad you did it. My human and I haven't been reading this blog very long. We thought the 1000 pug project was a fundraiser for pug rescues. My daughter (9 years old) used her own money to pay for her pug to be part of this project. We have never heard anything. How does a father explain this to a 9 year old? We enjoyed meeting Amanda and think her work is amazing, but alot of time has passed now and our dog has cancer and is dying.

We are losing faith and my daughter's heart is broken. Are there actually people here on the blog who have gotten pictures from the 1000 Pug project?

I see many people reaching out here for answers because we have tried contacting Amanda, with no answers.

It is really upsetting that people can be this rude. I'm sick just reading all of this mean nastiness. Both of my pugs took part in this project in Portland in June. It was a really fun experience....the boys didn't really behave as well as I would have liked but over all my husband and I had a great time. When I signed my boys up for this I was excited because it was going to be a really fun way to DONATE to our local rescue. and that is exactly what it was. A good time and money going to a good cause. I could never for one second feel that I was scammed because the Pacific pug rescue got their money. The pictures will be an added bonus. One last thing I have to say is that Amanda was very sweet and the way you are all carrying on is probably ripping her apart. This was a lot for one person to take on alone. I get that you all just want to be informed and acknowledged, but look at the things you are saying. Put yourselves in her shoes. How would you feel?

This is so very sad. I wasn't part of the 1000 Pugs project but come on... shame on some of you people for being so insensative, rude, ignorant, hostile, arrogant and acting like bafoons.

Amanda has said she didn't know it would be such an indertaking and she would have done it differently had she known. These delays are not intentional. She's doing the best she can with what the project turned out to be. If I was in Amanda's shoes I'd probably send all you "nasty" people their money back and replace your pictures in the book with Pug owners who are truely caring people.

As for working on the blog intead of the project... I can't beleive someone wrote that! EVERYBODY is entitled to 15 minutes a day to do something that is uplifting to their soul and personally enriches their life. Maybe for Amanda that's the blog time. Are you going to be so selfish to think every second of her day should be about YOU, YOU, YOU?

As for the the little girl waiting for her pictures and the owners of the dying Pug - I have compassion for your situations. Unfortunately, life doesn't always go the way we want it to. The best we can do is turn those times into teaching experiences for our children and hope to teach them compassion tword other human beings.

I'm not a friend of Amanda's, in fact Ive never met her. I have faith in her and I think 99% of the blog followers do too!If you beleive in Amanda, please write "I BELIEVE IN YOU AMANDA" in the next blog post!

Puglet, you should not stay home alone. Poppy and Ollie say they will send their baby sister Luna, to stay with you. She can bring you a Chicago Deep Dish Pizza with Bacon.
Dutch, Ollie says he loves your pink sweaters and he wants us to get him some.
Also, Dutch, they want you to look for their non-furry sister who is leaving this AM to fly to the EAT Coast to visit her Uncles.
We love this blog and don't want it to go anywhere due to unhappy people.

I also believe in the overall good of people. When I sent my payment for the kickstarter I did so to support 1000 Pugs. When I sent my payment for 1000 Pugs I did so to help pug rescue. Pictures and t-shirts and tags would be wonderful treats, the community feel was awesome. I'm so sad that is slipping away, that this group of people is in discord, that some are so unhappy they are resorting to name calling.

Amanda, is one of the kindest people I have met. She went above and beyond when my photo session was in jeopardy and her attitude toward me was not soured by my mistakes. She recognized the relationship between my pug and my child and invited my child to help her with the pictures.

Stop attacking the people that are upset! They have a right to be! If a professional takes a photo of your family and tells you you will have proofs in 2-3 weeks and 8 months later you have no update or communication you are lying to yourself if you say at least on a professional level you would not be upset. There is NOTHING wrong with wanting to know the status of something you paid for??? The rescues thank god got their part which was $10 a shoot. The othe $40 was for a photo. Whats wrong with wanting to know whats up after almost a year???? If updates were made on this blog thats news to me because I dont usually read the blog. I didnt know I was suppose to in order to get an update? I thought that was what the FB page was for or the website? Neither has been updated in over 7 months...Amanda I think we ALL agree we love you, the project and your talent. Its the lack of communication we are upset with thats all please say something so all this bickering can be over!

Anonymous said...

The issue here is not the 1000 Pugs supporters and their lack of patience. 1000 Pugs supporters have been patient and in some cases have waited almost a year for their pictures. WOW! 1000 Pugs supporters have reached out to Amanda repeatedly, with no response. No wonder they are angry and frustrated and assuming the worst.

The issue here is the lack of communication on the part of Amanda. Amanda has deliberately ignored people's requests for updates and information.

I agree with the previous posters, Amanda needs to open the lines of communication to the supporters of her project and offer refunds, if this is what people choose. This seems like such a no-brainer way to solve this problem.

This is an integrity and credibility issue. Period.

Anonymous said...

I too am angry. I understand this is a big project. I am an understanding person. All I asked for WAS INFORMATION. An UPDATE. ANYTHING!! To not respond to any emails, or on any of the sites dedicated to this project is inexcusable. Especially when Amanda takes the time to blog. ONE OR TWO SENTENCES every few weeks would be enough. SERIOUSLY! This project started as something with heart and has turned into a complete disaster of unprofessionalism and rudeness. I am ashamed.

Do all of you blind supporters not realize that Amanda has taken $65,000 from people?! $50 per pug plus $15,000 raised on kickstarter. $10,000 went to pug rescue, so that leaves $55,000 unaccounted for. Still seem like chump change? With that amount of money can't she hire some help? How long does it take to send a mass email? I have reported Frolic Photography to Paypal for non receipt of goods. Of course it is WAY PAST the window to open a dispute but if they get enough complaints maybe they will do something. Honestly the behavior of Amanda has been so unprofessional that everytime I see my pictures, if I ever do, I will probably just be reminded of this awful experience. As for being good for pug rescue, it has been a PR nightmare for my local rescue. They have had to publicly say on their facebook page that they did not promote or have anything to do with the project. Honestly it has just made them look bad along with Amanda.

Hey PDX, do you honestly think Amanda can support herself with the money from this project? I am sure that on top of all the work this has taken that she still has to work at her business to support herself and pug and Dutch. Does it make you feel good and superior to lodge complaints with PayPal? Check yourself and your actions and just remember that karma is really a bitch sometimes. Your lack of patience and negativity you are spewing really will come back to haunt you someday. Try walking a mile in someone else's shoes befor you resort to those actions. And remember in the end....would you rather be right or happy? It's your choice. I know I would rather be happy than attacking someone who is probably extremely overwhelmed with making a commitment that they didn't realize would be such an undertaking.

And EVERYONE please stop ruining this blog. I have a stressful job and this puts a smile on my face everyday.....so just stop complaining. Life is too short to be this pissed off.

Augustus said...

PDX Pug, it's the power of community IMHO. I gave $50 for a photo session, $10 went to rescue. Last month I handed strangers on the street more than $40 because they had a need for it. Every year my family does as much as we can for others, we foster and assist rescues, we pack food to send to 3rd world countries, we visit nursing homes etc. I believe Amanda has the best intentions and is simply overwhelmed, but even if this has been an intentional scam my personal loss is minimal.

Amanda is one person, what I know of her is that she is kind and generous. I can't imagine how much some of these comments must hurt her so I will stand up for her until I have reason to do otherwise.

Forgotten in the Middle said...

PDX Pug, my thoughts exactly! PDX pug should not be attacked here!!

Also there seems to be a trend here, anyone noticed? People who had pugs photographed at the beginning (pugs with low numbers) and most likely received their pictures are happy and those whose pugs photographed at the end (high numbers), who haven't received pictures but also haven't waited months and months with NO communication from Amanda.

Please Amanda, if you are reading this, just let us know what is going on. It seems like people and pugs in the middle have been forgotten.

My pugs were photographed in Portland too, and I have zero hostility toward or negative things to say about Amanda. So, "forgotten in the middle", there is no trend. Please stop your nastiness here. Take it somewhere else. You're not accomplishing anything here but upsetting people that can do nothing to help you. The upset and frustration is understood, but using this blog as an outlet for all of your hate and accusations is uncalled for and just plain rude to the rest of us. I feel bad for the poor puggies that have to live around such negativity. It breaks my heart to think about.

Anonymous said...

dont jump to conclusions, theres probably a good reason behind all of this. being frustrated is okay, but being rude and profane isnt going to make your wait any shorter.

My local rescue received their money and that, above anything to do with me or what I'm entitled to, is what really matters. I will give Amanda the benefit of the doubt and continue to KNOW she is a wonderful person who wants nothing but to help pugs. We all have better things to worry about than when we will receive a t shirt or a few pictures. Stay positive friends, Hugo xoxoxo

To all the people who are frustrated, angry, and are venting on this board:

While I understand why you'd be frustrated as I have been wondering myself where the pictures are, there is no need to be nasty. Just because you are BEHIND a computer screen, it does not give you entitlement to be nasty. This is actually very low, cowardly, and quite frankly speaking, immature and disgusting.

Amanda obviously has a lot of pictures to deal with and a lot of paperwork and editing to do. This is a huge project and I'm pretty sure she took more than just ONE photo of EACH of your pugs. As a matter of fact, I think she took at least 20 shots of each pug. 20 x 1000 = 20 000 photos to go through. Please put yourself in her shoes and think about it now. You'd be overwhelmed too.

So yes, I understand that it would be nice for Amanda to update (on behalf of Puglet) on the status of the photoshoot but please put on some big girl or big boy pants and be respectful and nice. Would you be this nasty in person to her or are you just snarling, biting and growling because you're anonymous behind a screen? How would you feel if someone were that rude to you? What scarred you during your childhood to be such a horrible & immature person now?

I cannot believe that you complainers don't feel bad after being so rude. Please grow up and go do some yoga or something to calm your nerves. There are bigger issues to worry about. Normally, I don't comment on these boards but there has been so much nastiness on this board that I'm inclined to put in my words.

You know, Amanda has been very honest (and, IMO, *brave*) in talking about how she started doing the Daily Puglet following an accident with an eighteen-wheeler that killed one of her dogs and left her with a traumatic brain injury (TBI).

I don't know all the details because it happened before I came along, but I guess my human got ambushed by one of those great big trucks with all the wheels and her brain got hurt. It was the same accident that made her dog Grendel go to sleep, so she doesn't talk about it much because it makes her leak real bad. I hate when humans leak, so I don't ask many questions.

Anyway, my human's brain did get better, but not totally better. It's still kinda gimpy. And her new gimpy brain can't do the same kind of work it used to do...

The whole idea for The Daily Puglet actually came from one of my human's brain doctors (who also has a pug). I heard the doctor say it would be a good way to do "something positive" each day and use her brain in a way that wouldn't make it so tired...

She, well, Puglet, has also recently posted (http://dailypuglet.blogspot.com/2012/09/very-serious.html) about how the TBI continues to affect her executive functioning--you know, the stuff where your brain organizes the various parts of projects, including the ability to manage time, assess your own performance and and stuff. *Please* take a minute to read that blog post if you haven't already.

While I can totally understand the frustration people are feeling at not having their photos yet or receiving updates, I hope they can understand that Amanda is no doubt doing the best she can under the circumstances, and can have some compassion and patience.

Some of the posts on here are just mean, nasty pot-stirring, and it's a shame that people can't be even half as kind as their Pugs undoubtedly are.

Hang in there, Amanda. You'll get it done, girl.

I've not seen anyone be nasty apart from those who feel entitled to tell people who are owed a service they paid for that they are nasty.

Amandas phone number is on the frolic photography website, I advise those waiting to call directly and ask for an update. You won't get an answer from here, she doesn't care that much apparently.

sending an email takes the same effort as writing a blog post, so using an illness as an excuse for not contacting people when you can blog regularly is a cop-out.

For a healthy brain, yes, for someone still dealing with the effects of a TBI, often no.

Complex things, brains.

Kait, and anonymous, and whoever else has been posting incessantly like you're a toddler on Christmas eve, it would be much appreciated if you could leave your phone number and e-mail so that you may be bombarded as well. What I don't understand is why everyone is so worried about the timeline. You are obviously all going to get your merchandise from the Kickstarter campaign eventually, so have some patience, and do something productive with your life. All of your photos still must exist digitally, and will continue to exist as she works on them, so who cares when you get them.

Uhm, the people who paid for them care when they get them?

How would you like to pay for groceries and then have someone tell you that you'll get them when they feel like giving them to you, but they won't tell you when that is. Meanwhile you don't have the goods you paid for, or the money!

Sounds like a Nigerian scam to me.

Groceries are a necessity, and this is not. I hope you've never gotten scammed out of groceries by a Nigerian.

I totally agree with the fact that this isn't a necessity. And I certainly hope you didn't get scammed by a Nigerian for your groceries. I am actually laughing as I am typing. But in all seriousness, stop feeling so entitled just because you paid a couple hundred dollars out of your pocket for this charity. If you feel very entitled, then there is something wrong with you. Go to Africa or something and soak up your immediate pride there..and then maybe you'll also get scammed by a Nigerian while at that...and that you totally deserve. Hahahaha....

People are rightfully upset, they have received nothing. I didn't do it to help the pug rescues. I did it to get quality pics of my dying dog. Now I have nothing. I am pissed. I feel taken advantage of and scammed.
