CALLED ON ACCOUNT OF BAD WEATHER

---
The polls are closed!
please read...

---

I want to thank everyone who fought to overcome annoying technical difficulties and long delays to click for me. Please thank all friends & family who did the same...

But don't think I want to be in the cute contest anymore
.

Maybe I just had too much time to think
because it rained all day yesterday - but this contest is teaching me things about humans I just don't want to know about.

Like the one pug rescue group who didn't want to vote bec
ause my plan to pick the names of 10 rescues from a hat made the whole thing "too speculative" for them to get behind. This almost made my human leak. Who cares WHICH pug rescue group gets the money, as long as pugs get saved??? she said.

Another bunch of people said my promise to donate money was something called "dubious". I don't exactly know what that means, but I get the feeling it's not a compliment. They said to prove I'm "legit", I should post written agreements with any rescue who might benefit. Written agreements?? I don't even have thumbs!

All I wanted to do is help pugs and my human have a better life. I never meant to be speculative or dubious.

Then someone said they saw a cute picture of brother Dutch in the contest. Except we never entered a cute picture of Dutch, just the one you all picked of me. Turns out someone in a place called Rancho Cucamonga (!) entered this picture my human took of Dutch at the beach with his rubber chicken, which is more weird than anything. But still.

The final straw came when my human told me about the bruhaha over how last week's contest winner got all his votes. A lot of people are upset about it because the winning dog's human "bribed" people in a Facebook group to vote for him.

It just doesn't seem like a cuteness contest anymore and I don't want to waste anyone's energy with a bogus contest. I liked it better when I just did my best to look cute here on my blog and made nice people go Awww. Maybe instead of wasting time on some bogus contest, we can come up with our own ways to harness the power of my cuteness??

Again, thanks bunches for all the votes. I promise - NO MORE CONTESTS!!

We have always thought you were going to do the right thing. Who ever is leaving you mean comments need to stop. We thought it took forever to register to vote which was weird. And the Dutch thing was odd to. So I guess its good you stopped. Just don't loose faith! We love reading your blog and would never say anything bad abouts you. Thank you for sharing your cuteness with us!

Puglet: I am so sorry people had to ruin your good intentions. Some people are mean, out for blood and their own purposes. Gotta ruin everything.

You in your raincoat......what an adorable picture!

A message from Human's mom/Puglet's Grandmom:
I am so proud to have a daughter who still carries with her the morals and goodness she was raised to follow, and has passed on to Puglet. Nothing is worth compromising your self for, even $1 million dollars. You don't have to win a prize, Puglet; you just need to be discovered. Your time will come - fair and square. We didn't mind voting at all, but are glad you rescued us from a shady situation.
Love and hugs. Mom/Grandmom/Cousin Sophie

Puglet, sadly the term 'No good deed goes unpunished' affects to our humans all too often. Don't let a bunch of bad apples spoil your mom's good intentions. Our mom has been inspired by your mom and we'd hate for her to give up now! We'll vote for you every ding dang day and who ever doesn't like it can kiss our curly patootie. So tell her to keep that camera handy and keep taking pictures of all of your cuteness!

Dear Puglet, Dutch, and Human- We're bummed to hear the crummy news. All we can say is- some people suck. Keep the great photos and writing coming, it's the best part of my morning at work!! Pug Hugs, Megan and Miss Lola in Las Vegas

Hi Puglet! I can't believe what's going on! You were just trying to do the right thing and look what happened. Money changes people and some people will do anything to get it.

I agree that you should just go back to looking cute on the blog. The Hansen's contest was a great way to bring Team Puglet together and we are all much closer as a team. Maybe the contest was a sign that you should only enter Hansen's like contests. Mom and I will vote for you no matter what contest you enter.

Stubby xoxo

oh Puglet ... you are totally legit and not at all dubious. (This is a compliment.) I'm sorry this happened and that you had to learn that not all humans are kind and honest like yours.

Keep on being cute!

Hi everybody -

Thanks bunches for your niceness & understanding :)

Stubby's right, the whole contest thing *did* make Team Puglet closer and even brought new pug-friends here to the Daily Puglet.

You all showed me the good side of humans that makes us pugs love you all so much. No bogus contest is going to do that!

Well Puglet, you are the cutest part of my human's work day and I really hope you keep blogging. My human and her best friend (who goes to Pug Sunday at the same park as you) read and discuss your blog everyday despite living in different parts of the country. You've created something that brings people together in a positive and loving way, which is a far cry from antyhing you can find on TV or tabloids. Thanks for being a sweet and entertaining break in my human's work day.

Love,
Stella the Duchess of Fluffington [meow]

It sounds like the contest is what was a bit "dubious"! We were happy to be part of Team Puglet, even if just for two days of voting :)

Too bad a few mean people had to ruin our fun! 'It takes all kinds', my human always says.
There's a contest out there for you to win. For now, we'll keep reading every day.

ps- My human says she thinks your human should look at pet photography as a side job- she says she's the best she's ever seen.

WTF!?!? We don't understand humans sometimes - we agree that if the money is to help pugs, who cares which rescue group gets it! We are sorry that there have been so many issues with this.

You all are so nice. I kinda thought the whole world was as nice like everyone here... but guess I was wrong.

Wow is all I can say. I am not sure who said that to you, but as a pug rescue- donations can come to us anytime from anywhere:)) We are not picky. We love people that try to help the pugs and sorry this happened to you. We have kids that collect bottles to turn in money and we love all donations, big and small just the same. you were doing a great thing but yes contests make people crazy! it was fun trying to help puglet win. we love you both in VT.

This is a hard hard year for pug rescues and I admire you trying to help us! hugs!!
